Carriorn Crawlers

Conversions

K this may sound weird but has anyone converted these and done anything special with them? i only ask because im trying to convert an adventure (prewritten) for my personal campaign and it calls for carrion crawlers in a very interesting usage of them. So i would like to keep this aspect.

Anyway if anybody has, message me on here or email my account... thanks.

Liberty's Edge

Just took a look at the crawler's entry in the 3.5 MM, and I don't see anything that would absolutely need to be converted. It should work just fine as written.

The beauty of backwards compatibility.

Dark Archive

I've got a huge carrion crawler mini and I'm gonna have to convert it for an upcoming one-shot. It doesn't need much converting though.
The only thing I don't understand is why they turned it into an aberration. Shouldn't it be a magical beast or something? It's just a giant caterpillar with tentacles.

. Sounds pretty aberrant to me. :-p

Yeah, but before 3rd edition it was an ''animal'' If I'm not mistaken. Besides, if a giant centipede is vermin, then a giant caterpillar with a paralysis attack is a magical beast to me.

Edit: It used to look more like a caterpillar too. The 3rd edition version is just ugly.

I thought they were. Shows how much I know!
