PaizoCon 2010 LARP

Hi,

Reading through some of the posts about Paizo Con 2009, they mention a LARP element.

I run a LARP system in Vancouver and would love to hear more.

Will there be any LARP events at Paizocon 2010??

If so, how do LARP weapons interact with Paizo's nothing that looks like a weapon rule???

There was no LARP last year, just a small interactive event for Pathfinder Society. There won't be any LARP events this year either, we don't have the room or staff to manage one.

Frogger LARP, for the love of all that is holy, we need a Frogger LARP. There's a highway nearby, all we need is a river with logs and some turtles and gators.

I played the Frogger LARP last year. No turtles or gators but a heck of a lot of Hondas and Acuras. Oh, and, this year, you want to be especially careful of the *Toyotas*. :)

Speaking of the interactive, will this year's interactive (I assume there will be one) be a walk-around interactive like last year, or will it be more table-bound like the interactive at Neoncon?

I was told there wasn't going to be an interactive this year, and I'm not sure anything has changed since then. Of course, I could be wrong :)

Sad. That really was the highlight of teh con for me last year.

You're both right.

I'm backing away from the term "interactive" and am instead using "special." The special at Paizo Con will function like the one at Neon Con did. We'll be playtesting a Tim Hitchcock (first-ever) Tier 1-11 special as a playtest for Gen Con.

While I prefer the "walk-around" nature of Paizocon 2's interactive, I also enjoyed the interactive/special from Neoncon- and am sure thi one will be even more fun.

A question though, if we play the special at Paizocon, will we be able to (re)play it at GenCon?

Yes, but you have to replay it with a different character/faction.

Fair enough. That's doable. Will the special only run once at Gen Con or twice like last year? Speaking of- when do we get event schedules for PaizoCon and GenCon?

Once.

Gen Con schedules I'll put on the boards this week, Paizo Con schedule before the end of the month.

Josh, could you comment on overlap between PFS events at Paizoco and Gencon? I'm trying to decide which events to register for at Gen Con, but I don't want to sign up for something I will already have played at Paizocon.
