Ruby Knight Vindicator - of Sarenrae?

Homebrew and House Rules

Hi,

I will soon be able to play in a Lagacy of Fire campaign, and while flipping thorugh ToB, the Ruby Knight Vindicator got my attention. Now, WeeJas is a badass godess, but not in Golarion, and doesn't fit Katapesh. Sarenrae is badass as well, and fits. So I thought to myself, if I want to play a Blazing Knight Vindicator, what would the appropriate changes be? I came up with:

- Prerequisites: As is, but Tumble 4 instead of Hide 4 (or Acrobatics 4 instead of Stealth 4 in PFRPG)
- Maneuvers: As is, but Desert Wind instead of Shadow Hand
- Class features: As is, but Armored Mobility instead of Armored Stealth (no armor check penalties to Tumble checks)

What do you say?

Do you really think Sarenrae is badass? She's NG. Her portfolio is honesty, as opposed to Wee Jas's portfolio of secrecy. Having said that i've known RKV of Tempus, so it doesn't have to be totally compatible.

The only thing i'd add is Acrobatics to class skills and take away Hide (Stealth)

Well, yeah, Sarenrae is badass in that she relentlessly pursues the irredemabel wicked. From the Campaign Setting: "Such kindness vanishes, however, when the church is stirred to action against an evil that cannot be redeemed—particularly against the cult of Rovagug. At such times, Sarenrae’s clerics become dervishes, dancing among foes while allowing their scimitars to give their opponents final redemption."

Good call with Acrobatics as a class skill.

Sounds like it should play out alright, on further thought, especially against cults etc. quick question, you're not going to carry nightsticks are ya? ;)

Quick answer: nightsticks are bogus. Now give me a *light*stick that does not stack and costs double, I'm on board.

I probably wouldn't substitute Sarenrae for Wee Jas in any respect - they're profoundly different gods that differ in alignment on both axes. I'd probably map Wee Jas to Pharasma in the Golarion world, since Pharasma is the neutral, dispassionate goddess of life and death. Alternately, Nethys, who has the LN alignment and is a god of magic and knowledge as well as destruction. It depends on the aspect of Wee Jas that something applied to.

Of course, you can do whatever you want in your own campaign!

I don't want to substitute the godesses, I respect both :)

But I like the idea of a cleric / crusader combo that is beholden to Sarenrae. Some sort of holy tumbling warrior that brings flame to the irredemable cult of Rovagug. Thus, I took RKV as a starting point to create a different PrC. In addition to the mechanical changes, the whole fluff of RKV would change, but I haven't gotten to write that yet.

Yeah, I did somewhat the same thing with a priest of Sarenrae. I took some Crusader, with Desert Wind subbing in for Stone Dragon. Why Ruby Knight Vindicator specifically? You'll already need joint cleric and crusader or something - more multiclassing may be a problem.
