4 Winds Fantasy Gaming co-owner Robert Thomson announced today that beginning with a March 2011 release, 4 Winds will begin producing RPG supplements under the M&M Superlink license. The M&M Superlink license allows 3rd Party Publishers such as 4 Winds Fantasy Gaming to produce compatible material for Green Ronin’s Mutants & Masterminds roleplaying game.
“When I started thinking about where 4 Winds Fantasy Gaming should go from here, Mutants & Masterminds seemed a natural addition to our Pathfinder-compatible and OGL products,” Thomson said. “Ever since I was a kid, I’ve loved comic books, and with Green Ronin’s Mutants & Masterminds system, you can truly custom create your hero – whether you want to create a Superman-like powerhouse or a street-tough like Blade, or anything in between!”
Thomson stated that he has enlisted Don Walsh and James Stubbs to write the first M&M Superlink book for 4 Winds. “These two guys really know their comic book lore and history, as well as the Mutants & Masterminds system. I’m excited to see what they produce!”
Look for the first M&M Superlink product from 4 Winds Fantasy Gaming in early March 2011, coinciding with the company’s 2nd anniversary. The supplement will be released as both a soft-cover print product as well as PDF.

Thats cool, but wow you guys are really planning in advance now arn't you. :)
For our print products, we usually do plan them several months in advance. Sometimes our announcements of products come after some initial work has already been done, making it seem like only a few weeks or couple of months until it is ready. We wanted to announce this one immediately though, as none of us could sit on such exciting news for too long. :D

I imagine the announcement of 3rd edition has thrown a wrench into this.
Luckily, it hasn't. :-) Green Ronin will be updating the M&M Superlink License to "Super-Powered by M&M", effective January 1, 2011. Since we weren't planning on having this product out until March 2011, we're good to go there. Super-Powered by M&M is actually going to make things easier for 3PPs, which makes us happy!
Work is continuing on our first M&M product, and while we will have to wait on seeing the new 3rd edition rules for finalizing stats and other crunchy bits, we're not anticipating a delay due to the edition change.

Good to know! I thought the rule changes would put things on hold.
We're confidant it won't slow it up too much, if at all. We'll have a sneak peek at the new rules in August with the release of the DC Adventures RPG, which is using the 3e M&M rules, so we'll be a step ahead when the new core rulebook is released a couple months later in the fall.
In a couple of weeks, the two designers working on our book will be giving their first sneak peek at what they have planned in our weekly journal on our Facebook page (you don't have to have a Facebook account to view the journal).
