William will walk up to the now lifeless body and take his money and some of his equipment. All I want is the money and potions... the rest is up to grabs...

"Hey man, we all did work." John says as he walks over to the hellknight pulling out his sword. John moves to L 15

Attack-1d20 + 3 ⇒ (17) + 3 = 20
Damage-1d8 + 3 ⇒ (1) + 3 = 4

John says as he hits at the hellknight, "We all deserve money except for maybe Lucius, mostly because he is more than likely dead because I am standing on his sufficating body. If we can revive him we are going to split some money in his pockets though before I revive him."


The Hellknight continues to block all attempts by Janiven to put him down.

William sees the now lifeless body of Mars lying on the ground. He takes the time to rummage through his gear taking what he finds interesting.

William:
Among his possessions you retrieve 7 potion vials and 43 gp, 9 sp, and 9 cp.

James sidesteps to flank the Hellknight attacking Janiven and fits his rapier into a vital spot on the Hellknight. The Hellknight immediately falls to his knees and slumps over.

Yoki puts his crossbow up on the sewer walkway and begins searching the sewer water for Lucius body. ’Hey man…get off him and help me!’ Yoki says to John as he grabs Lucius in an attempt to pull him from the sewer. ’Your doin’ the mouth to mouth on him this time!!! I’ll do the healing!’

Cure Light Wounds on Lucius:1d8 + 1 ⇒ (3) + 1 = 4

Janiven remarks to John, ’Is that all you think of your party members?!? He was doing his job and fell in the line of duty! Get him up here…’, she points to Lucius, ’..I fear he’s already inhaled too much of the sewer water but we need to try!! Morosino….how do you feel?’

Morosino, the sewage dripping from his body, pulls himself up from the sewer trench, ’Better now, thanks to John…but still not the greatest!’

"Stand back!,"William shouts as he runs up to Lucius to preform cardiopulmonary resuscitation I think the time and my intelligence would allow me to know enough about CPR.

"Ha ha ha look at William ha hey did those knights have gold?"

James is searching the hellknights while william is doin work.Unless Janivan starts to leave.


James reaches down and begins searching the Hellknight slumped at his feet.

James:
A quick once over with the Hellknight leads you to find a potion vial hidden beneath his chainmail armor. A light crossbow is strapped to his back along with a quiver containing 20 crossbow bolts. The longsword he wielded has fallen into the sewer trench.

Sewer water comes from the mouth of Lucius as you perform this life saving maneuver. His breathing starts up again, but he is still unconscious and far too injured to move. The sound of more guards can be heard coming down the tunnel.

'It looks like he's in no condition to move around. If the six of you can manage to continue on I will try to draw off the pursuers! Remember to keep an eye out for the markers and you will eventually find your way out. Also...there are things in this sewer that should not be taken lightly. I'll meet you as soon as I can.' The light diminishes from around you as Janiven heads down the tunnel. Shortly thereafter you can hear her shouts echo through the tunnel as she tries to draw attention away from your direction. In the distance you can hear male voices, ’I see one up ahead! YOU...STOP!!!!’. All you hear is the pounding of footsteps splashing along the sewer tunnels echoing further away. The area surrounding you is pitch black.

Except for those of you with darkvision.

William will reach into his bag and finds a torch. He also pulls out some flint and steel to light the torch. Instantly, light fills the rooom. "Ahh..that's better" William will continue to care for Lucius as much as possible, "Guys... lets get him standing or someone drag him, we can't just leave the guy.
I was supposed to have my horse for two hours and I mention this because he could ride on the horse if someone directs it. Has the two hours been over?

Heal:
1d20 + 2 ⇒ (20) + 2 = 22

William will also reach into his pockets for one of his potions.

The spell has not expired yet. Were you dragging/riding your horse through the sewer? What did you do with him when the battle began? If the horse is not trained for battle (as the spell only summons a riding horse not a war horse) then more than likely when the battle begun, it probably ran off. It that is the case, then you will need to look for the animal. If it went anywhere, it would have went the same route Janiven took. Do you want to go look for it??

Well, how I kind of saw it as every time we would check for the marker I was going to dismount and look for the marker... That time, I was able to detect the approaching and got prepared. I was thinking that I might of tied the horse on some sort of pipe or something to keep the horse in place.

William, a little annoyed, reaches into Lucius pocket's Unless he is conscious and takes his five gold pieces. William then tosses it in the direction of John, Go ahead, take your "allowance."

The light from the torch flickers as you hold Lucius's head and pour the liquid into his mouth. Lucius body seems to come alive as he begins coughing; forcing some of the liquid from his mouth. He looks up at William and the rest of the group as if wondering what had happened.

'I've gotten your horse as you asked sir!' Morosino says to William as he leads the white steed conjured by William back to the rest of the group. Morosino seems weak, but ready to move on.

As you look around Hellknight bodies lie on the sewer walkway and remnants of the battle can be seen in the trench. Mars’ now stripped body lays on the walkway as well.

Yoki reaches for his mandolin, he begins to mumble words above it and it begins to shed light as a torch. 'Hey John look…give you any ideas? Oh…by the way…it looks like our marker says we go north!'

Lucius looks around, ’Has anyone seen my greatsword? I must have dropped it in the sewer trench. We can’t leave till we find it!’

Morosino looks down the tunnel at the direction Janiven had just left. With fear in his eyes Morosino says, ’Guys…maybe its’ best if we kind of make it quick…I’d hate for those guys to come back!’

Just to catch everyone up. Since we had to do some ‘rearranging’ with the slackers in the group everyone should now have a total of 820 xp. This includes the last battle and everything else up to this point. Since most of the party didn’t post I rearranged the already awarded xp so that those who did play got the well deserved ‘reward’ taken from those who did not ‘do work’.

"Hmm Weird, what exactly does noble blood need money for. Daddy cut off your thousand dollar allowance?" John says after ripping the armor off of the dead Mars. "If I do sell this armor I am spliting it... maybe."

I now have 820xp. SWEET.

"Quite frankly, I trust myself with money more than I would trust you, obviously. However, if a loan you shall require, so be it. But, if I would happen to require a loan, I hope my demands would be fufilled as well."

William then directs his attention to the boy, "Yes, we must leave immediently, but it is no good for a fighter to not have a weapon if we would be in a predictament once again. Everyone, let's find his sword!"

Perception Check:

If I find his weapon, I will hand him his weapon and direct everyone to move out of here as quickly as possible.

"We need to keep moving. Morosino, think you can ride the horse?" William says, looking at how injured the boy is.
I can help direct the horse since he is a small boy... I think?..

The party begins looking around in the sewer trench for Lucius sword and before long William’s hand stumbles across it. Pulling the sword from the pungent water, William hands the sword to Lucius. ’Ah, thank you…I would have been lost without it.’

’I’ve never really ridden one sir, but I’ve seen people do it lots of times!’ Morosino moves up to the horse and begins to put his leg into the stirrup. After a couple of tries he is able to finally mount the horse. Morosino looks around, his eyes open wide ’Wow…I can practically touch the ceiling from here!’

’Well, now that I have my sword we best get going. If there are no objections then I guess I’ll take post.’ Lucuis says eyeing the rest of the party. He notices John packing the half-plate taken from Mars. 'You plan on carrin' that around with ya??'

William laughs at the little boy, "Yeah, it feels good, doesn't it? It's best that we get out of here, come on everyone! You said north tunnel right Yoki?"


Yoki looks to William, ’Yes…that is correct. The tunnel going north is the one we should take.’

’Then by all means, let’s make haste!’, Lucius says swinging his sword from side to side, getting the feel of his sword familiar to his hand again.

The tunnel continues for quite a ways north before another intersection comes forth. At the intersection, the tunnel continues straight with two exits to the right and one to the left. Lucius shouts out to the group, ’Which tunnel do we take?’

Remember, only those with a light source can search for the marker correctly. Unless of course you have darkvision.

Lucius leads the way to the tunnel on the left, after about 60 feet you run into what appears to be a pile of refuse and rubble blocking the path.

'Looks like we've got to clear this if we want to continue on!' Lucius says.

"Awww, We don't have time for this. Hey William, can you summon like an animal or something to help move all of this junk. I don't feel like being stalled to the point of having to fight more hellknights."

"Wow, and I thought nobles were the ones who wouldn't lift a finger. Oh well, it's best that we get to work." William makes a small gesture with his head to the raven and it flies, picking up all small rocks it can carry. William then begins to lift the rubble as well.
Yeah, I know the raven can't do much, I just wanted to remind people that I still had him...


After about a minute, you can move the blockage enough to get past.

The tunnel continues on for a few more feet before another group of tunnels are seen ahead. This time, in addition to the tunnel continuing straight ahead there are two exits to the right and two to the left.

"It's not that I didn't want to lift a finger, which I don't because I rock too hard. It's that I am carrying about fifty pounds of armor but oddly enough no gold from any fights. Oh it's to the far right."

"Alright, we might as well get moving and quit our bickering."

You continue your trek down the tunnel to the far right. The light of the torches and Yoki’s now ‘lit’ mandolin reflecting off the damp sewer walls. Up ahead is another junction with a tunnel leading off the main path to the left. The sound of the pursuers seems to have gotten further away and things have gotten quiet as of late.

Drolgun Scorehamer:

You have been aiding Janiven and Arael in the last few weeks in fighting the evil that has taken hold in Westcrown. You have grown accustomed to the ‘Children of Westcrown’, most specifically, Ermolos (a Chelaxian male with an incredibly muscular physique gained from working a long apprenticeship as a blacksmith; he walks with a slight limp – a lingering effect of a childhood illness). He shares your love for battle and has shown great promise when it comes to fighting. His father, being a relatively well-known adventurer, was lost on an ill-fated journey to Thuvia several years ago and Ermolos still clings to the hope to someday travel across the Inner Sea to find his missing parent.

It had become apparent to your group that three experienced members of the group cannot do it alone, even though you have the backing of the other ‘Children of Westcrown’, their aid is minor as they are not trained to aid in the manner you need. It was decided that the group would try to find others to aid in your cause. Janiven and Arael decided to have a meeting, similar to when they had approached you, to try to gather more followers to aid the cause. However, it has gotten later than expected and no word has been heard from Janiven or Arael.

All of a sudden a knocking is heard on the door. Ermolos limps over to the door to find Janiven in a fit of panic. ’Quick, Drolgun, we’ve got some big problems! First off, Arael’s been captured and he’s currently in a tug of war between the dotarri and the Hellknights of the Rack. Second, the group that Areal and I were scheduled to meet ran into some trouble. The Hellknights forced us to flee Vizio’s tavern, taking the sewer route. The group is still down there now, part of the party is injured, and I split from the group in an attempt to draw the Hellknights after me but I don't know how long the group will last navigating the sewers themselves. I fear for the remaining member’s lives, we must go back down there and bring them here to safety.’

Janiven leads you outside, a sunrod creating all the light in the dark alley. Although its not the light that bothers you, its the creatures that stalk at night that create the biggest problem. Those that thrive in the dark, the shadow beasts; creatures that have taken numerous lives before the curfew was set up.

'Here', Janiven bends down to slide the sewer grate off the top of the opening. 'There's going to be quite a few twists and turns so stay close. We shouldn't be too far from them if they were able to follow the markers that Areal and I put up down there a few weeks ago.' Janiven climbs down into the sewer opening.

"Forward on!" William says pointing at the left tunnel.


'To the left then!!' Lucius says.

You continue down the left path and come upon another blockage of the sewer tunnnel. The smell of the sewer seems to be even stronger at this end.

It will take a minute to clear the tunnel with everyone helping.

As you clear the tunnel, you can see another intersection up ahead. This time there is a tunnel to the left and one to the right.

Picking up his glowing mandolin, Yoki says 'Looks like we have some more searching to do up ahead!'

The marker points down the left tunnel again.

"Ha! Can't you guys see it?" William points towards the left tunnel yet again. "Let's head out."

"Nah, I can't see over your horse's butt." John says slapping William on the back. "I made a funny guys."

Well, I found William who usually knows the way sooooo...Guys I found it!


As you take the tunnel to the left, the smell of the sewer and other refuse becomes even stronger. What’s worse is the sight of mounds of rotten garbage and other decaying objects litter the floor and can even be seen floating in the sewer trench.

Yoki grabs his nose in an effort to block the obnoxious smell, ’Man John…was that you??’ The tunnel takes another left circling a cesspool before opening up to a larger room.

Before you have time to think, two massive tentacles tipped with barbs come flying from the cesspool. One wraps around Yoki while the other grabs Lucius. Both are drug into the murky water as a massive creature, mostly mouth, bursts from the cesspool. One tentacle rises above what can only be described as the body. The surface of this tentacle does not end in barbs as did the others, but instead is lined with eyes. Encircling the creature you notice scraps of humanoid bones floating amongst the refuse.

Action:
James will move to square O,10 then attack the creature.
Rapier attack-1d20 + 3 ⇒ (13) + 3 = 161d6 + 2 ⇒ (1) + 2 = 3

"Guys... I don't think we should stay...." William says almost trembling to this large beast. William looks apon the eyes of his raven and regains his confidence. William strikes the creature with a force missile, aiming specifically for its eyes.

Plan of Action:
Initiative:1d20 + 3 ⇒ (17) + 3 = 20
William will move to (R,13) and will cast force missile, aiming for the eyes on the tentacle.
Damage:1d4 + 1 ⇒ (3) + 1 = 4

I like how they go down, to drown in a sewer.....CLASSIC. I don't know about you guys but I don't want to stay here much longer. Hopefully after the attack, he won't be able to see, where we can kill him or run.


William is quick to react, he moves past James and fires a bolt of magic into the tenticle holding a mass of eyes. A horrible roar comes from the Otyugh as the flash hits it straight on.

But it is no comparison to the scream let out by Yoki as the Otyugh brings Yoki to its mouth. The massive maw of the Otyugh bites down on Yoki, ripping at his flesh and tearing the garments he wears. Silence soon leaves Yoki lips as he fades into unconsiousness.

Seeing this, Lucius struggles with all his might but he is unable to break the massive grip of the Otyugh and he himself passes out as the tenticle squeezes tighter.

While all this is taking place James tries to move behind the creature. He tries to stab at the Otyugh, but the creature is moving far too much for him to get a solid hit.

John pulls Morosino and the horse back and begins to sing words of encouragement to the group. John is inspiring courage

Up ahead, you see light and a flash. You then hear a roar and shortly thereafter a human scream.

Janiven pauses long enough to look at you, 'That must be them...hurry! It sounds as if they've got some trouble!'

"We're not going down without a fight!" William says trying to inspire the group as he cast another missile, this time going inside the mouth.

Plan of Action:
1d4 + 2 ⇒ (3) + 2 = 5

Do not think I want to stay and fight, I am open for a retreat, especially since he just cut Yoki in two and forced the air out of Lucius. Also, I only have like 2-3 more force missiles.

Drolgun will take his Dwarven Battleaxe in hand and re-grip his shield.

Let us go as silently as possible, Janiven. I'd rather not rush in and find us against a horde of Hellknights. But you're right, if it is your heros, then we may need aid them.

Stealth 1d20 - 3 ⇒ (4) - 3 = 1

Drolgun begins advancing towards the light keeping as close to the wall as possible.

Action:

Rapier attack- 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (14) + 3 = 171d6 + 3 ⇒ (3) + 3 = 6
Dagger attack- 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (2) + 3 = 51d4 ⇒ 1.

"Oh, That's delicious"


William fires another missile of magical energy, a look on his face of determination. However, his mind continues to tell him that it may be wise to live to fight another day.

Yoki and Lucius seem like rag dolls in the massive tentacles of the Otyugh. Their bodies lying lifeless as the creature continues to squeeze.

James finally manages to get a small bit of retribution as his rapier hits the creature in the side, another roar comes from the creature as he turns his attention to James.

John continues to sing, protecting Morosino behind him.

In the distance, you can hear the sound of armored footsteps and suddenly a light appears from a tunnel in the northwest. Is that Janiven?

Actually William, I believe you have just cast your last force missile if my count is correct. But I could be wrong.


Drolgun Scorehamer:

You can see a change in Janiven as you get closer to the sound of the scuffle. Fear is written across her face, ’Oh my gosh! We need to get them out of there!’

As you make your way around the corner you see a massive creature with three tentacles. One has a collection of eyes while the other two hold the lifeless bodies of a tiefling and a human. A huge maw of teeth nearly fills the center mass, blood and torn clothing can be seen dangling from its huge mouth.

I need initiative and the actions you plan to take next round.
