I wasn't quite sure what to expect from this new Pathfinder's Journal series since it was advertised as more comedic than serious. I think it struck the perfect balance between the two extremes and maintained a level of excitement throughout. I think both main characters have a lot of potential, and I'm especially intrigued by Phargas's yet-to-be-exposed deception. I just finished "Death at the Swaddled Otter" and already I can't wait for the next chapter!

I just read Pett's fiction in the newest AP, about Iomedae's nunnery and ambiguous kobolds. I admit it was a long time since I had such a good time. I really love this kind of picaresque stories, they remind me of some old Italian movies by Mario Monicelli.
