Former sports-star, now doctor, done for drink driving
you know what worries me about this story?
other than someone who could be seen as a role model committing a crime
other than him attempting to disrupt the test to see if he had been drinking (thus indicating he knew exactly what he had done)
other than someone who could clearly afford a taxi choosing to drink drive
no, the most worrying thing is a DOCTOR thinking sucking a copper penny was a good idea, and would stop him testing positive for alcohol

OTOH, I'm pretty impressed at an athlete-doctor. Break those stereotype boundaries!
because Rugby Union (as opposed to rugby league) is mainly played at high-end schools and universities, it's fairly common for most players to have degrees in either medicine or law
and, because 20 years ago, there were NO professional rugby players (just paid expences), most kept up with their careers on a part-time basis while playing. Even now, Rugby doesn't pay well compared to Football, so most players have a job they go back to when their careers slow down - again, frequently (but less frequently than before) Medicine or Law
