Multi Classing Spellcasting Feats

Homebrew and House Rules

So I was thinking about how multi-classing with spell casters is rather rough and I got this quick idea on how to fix things up.

You could have multi-classing between casters of the same time have their caster levels stack. Now if you feel you NEED to you could put this up as a feat.

So, a 6 Paladin/10 cleric could have a divine caster level of 13 for both paladin and cleric spells, but still would only have the spell selection of a 6th level paladin and 10th level cleric. This would not effect other things such as turning and domain abilities.

A 4 bard/6 sorcerer would have an arcane caster level of 10.
A 6 druid/7 cleric would be 13.

This sounds like the old Practised Spellcaster feat.

Prereq: 5 ranks of spellcraft, Caster level 1.

Choose one of your spellcasting classes. Your caster level for that class is increased by 4 to a maximum of your HD.

If I recall, you could take the feat more than once, but only once for each casting class.

There is a trait Magical Knack that gives you plus two caster level up to your hitdice works good for fighter casters

This is completely different, as I am suggesting a change in rules, and something that could effectively give +19 caster level increase...

But with a restriction of matching caster type.

I was tossing around the idea at one point to make Feats that gave +1 to your caster class level like in a prestige class or get +1 to your BAB up to your max character level. I think it's too powerful, even with the fact your trading off the Feats for basic power. You can try it though.

Well in that format, it seems like it is a bit over powering. The solution here is to allow a caster to multi-class between two semi-similar casting types. Allowing for easier multi classing for casters.

P.S. Thinking back This probably should be restricted to divine casters of the same deity. Such as a paladin and cleric.

I think what you want is here

Not quite the same, and it seems (at first glance) a lot more complicated.

Im fairly sure its identical to what you want, and its really easy with a few more mins to look at it. Look at Magic Ratings For Standard Characters section, rest is for how to handle non-core classes or monsters. Its 2 Paragraphs long and they are 2 and 3 sentences respectively.

Yeah, that is very similar to what I am planing.
