Did I read correctly that Wolverine's son killed The Punisher on orders from Normon Osborn? What is Crazy Joe thinking?

Actually, this makes sense. If I remember right, Frank tried to assassinate Osborne, or maybe someone else, but the Sentry stopped it. Since Norman didn't like that very much, he sent a guy who's practically immune to bullets to kill the guy who uses lots and lots of guns.

So this is how many deaths for Frank Castle now?
I remember at leasr two fake deaths but how many real deaths?

Wolverines son turned him into dog food but dont worry he got better (if being a frankinstine style monster can be classed as better) Ironicly this makes me prefer the character a lot more.

In the main Marvel world? I think this is his first time. Of course, since they took the Frankenstein route to bringing him back from the dead, he might rack up a few more.

Wolverine has a son? Norman Osborne isn't dead?

Kidz these days with their crazy comics. They're destroying the fabric of our society! I'm going back to my cave and wait for Jim Shooter's latest revamp of Magnus Robot Fighter and Solar, Man of the Atom.

That's lame. Did M. Night Shyamalan start directing Marvel comics?
What a twist!

Okay, here's the thing with Frank Castle...

There are two versions of the Punisher in print right now. There's the mega-violent, adults-only Punisher Max line, which runs separate from Marvel continuity and has had some great stories told in it (as well as some stories that were just gratutous and over-the-top).

Then there's the mainstream Marvel Universe Punisher, which has been composed of terrible stories for years now. Frank decided that he'd try to kill Norman Osborne, but decided to do it in an uncharacteristically stupid manner. The story that followed made similarly little sense. It ended with a bad guy resurrecting Frank's family, only to have Frank kill them all.

Eventually, Norman Osborne sent Wolverine's kid to kill the Punisher. Frank got his arms, legs, and head chopped off.

Then he got taken by the Ole Men and resurrected as a Frankstein's monster-type of creature. That's the ongoing story called Frankencastle. Seriously.

This is the second time Frank has died. The time before, he got turned into a angel of vengeance. That made about as little sense as Frankencastle. The good news, though, is that the last time something this dumb happened, the book was revived with Garth Ennis's "Welcom Back, Frank," which is one of the best Punisher stories ever told.

Sovereign Court

The Punisher officially died when Garth Ennis took over writing.
