Heaven has fallen, death has been overturned and the daemons have released the primordial evil.
The living realm is in ruins. There are no more civilizations left to save. Only a small bastion of heroes can save existence from oblivion.

Demogorgon found the primordial evil floating deep in the far realms encased in a prison of adamantine sealed with glyphs created from the souls of gods. Demogorgon siphoned it strength and waged war. First the demon conquered the devils ending their eternal war. Next his armies of evil launched a surprise attack on the realm of death killing its queen. His army bolstered by the legions of death smarmed the mortal realm sweeping aside all but the most powerful champions. The remaining gods joined together to stop the invaders and over the next 7 years the two armies have fought an war of attrition whittling away gods, arch-demons, arch-devils and entire realms of existence.
On the verge of defeat Bahamut devises a desperate plan to destroy Demogorgon and with his defeat rob the demon armies of their power.

The plan:
• Bahamut will take the remaining forces of light and attack the city of Dis drawing hells forces as a distraction
• A flight of angels will penetrate to the inner courtyard and set up and hold a portal
• The champions of light (you guys) will step through the portal and fight your way into the citadels throne room and attempt to kill Demogorgon
• Once you kill Demogorgon and disperse the demons power fight your way to the gates and open up a flank attack on the demon hordes.

The Final fight has started Bahamut has engaged the demon hordes. The angels have opened the portal. The only thing left to do is step through the portal and destroy the most dangerous creature in existence.

Place your characters within the yellow square and give me initiative roll.

Guardian. How would my AC of gotten that high without Hide Armor Expertise otherwise? Also, Akhad can reroll his initiative thanks to Primal Instinct.

Dunno gov, you're still level 1 on my sheet :) Working on it now.

Initiative: 1d20+24 = 38. Position Y26.

Elwyndas looks grim. "Which of these horrors shall be the first to die?" he asks angrily of his comrades.

What's the plan, team? Elwyndas is all about charging and raging against a single opponent with a spear (thus reach!). Depending on circumstances he can make several attacks against the same foe in a round.

male Halfling Chaos Sorcerer/Wild Mage/Deadly Trickster 29

"Let's start with the biggest."

Clovis does splat with some collateral damage. Variable effects. Much will depend on their resistances.

Focus fire on one foe at a time if we possibly can. Do we have any idea what we're facing here - i.e. what kind of checks to identify? Also, what's the blue thing - a magic circle of some kind or something else entirely?

Male Eladrin Barbarian

Usually Arcana as a free action knowledge check for each creature.

"Yes, the bigger they are, the harder they fall."

male Halfling Chaos Sorcerer/Wild Mage/Deadly Trickster 29

1d20 + 21 ⇒ (7) + 21 = 28 - Arcana on fat dudes with burning bellies
1d20 + 21 ⇒ (20) + 21 = 41 - Arcana on tentacled horror
1d20 + 21 ⇒ (4) + 21 = 25 - Arcana on weird flappy thing

Clovis tries to remember stuff.

1d20 + 34 ⇒ (8) + 34 = 42 - Arcana on fat dudes with burning bellies
1d20 + 34 ⇒ (15) + 34 = 49 - Arcana on tentacled horror
1d20 + 34 ⇒ (12) + 34 = 46 - Arcana on weird flappy thing

Well, actually Mr. Woodsman those demons are...

With the illusion stuff I have a lot more single control than just spreads of damage, but I do have some area stuff. I can either focus on our primary target, or I can try to keep the other monsters away while.

I'm not sure which check for those creatures, could it be religion or arcana? Xabulba which one should we roll?

As for the creatures and that whirlwind thingy in the room, can you describe them?

Once we figure out (if we do figureout) what kind of creatures they are, then we should make a plan, those chubby daemons could be ranged or melee, and that would effect our plan some, unless one or two of us can keep em busy while I keep the chuthulu wannabe busy. Another option could be that if the chubs are ranged attackers, I could keep tenticle guy busy while everyone else beats down on the chubbys. Thoughts?

Last thing...is that circle the tentacle guy is in, is it some magical circle? Arcana check it?

Male Eladrin Barbarian

I (the player) know what the red belly guys are, but that would be cheating...

Male Eladrin Barbarian

Ah yes, it could be Religion. Sorry. I get mixed up with the demons and devils.

"Clovis, that look better be you thinking, and not you about to be possessed..." Elwyndas says warily.

Elwyndas wrote:

Akhad flashes an evil smile at Elwyndas. "Don't worry, Elwyndas, if Clovis becomes possessed, we can smite the evil out of him the old fashioned way..."

Male Eladrin Barbarian

"Let's concentrate on the slightly larger things over there, rather than our friend."

Elwyndas mutters, "For the sake of the world, we must triumph. For the sanctity of the ourobouros..."

You step through the portal and see the bodies of angels littering the ground around you. To the north is a large elemental storm that Elwyndas recognizes as The Voice of the Storm an ancient elemental lord the gargantuan thing in the shallow pool is Dagon demon lord of the deep and the demons with fire in their belly are Solamith Hunters. The air is filled with the smell of brimstone and rotting flesh and the sounds of battle float in over the parapets.

Hmmm, from what I know of tactics, focus firing is good, but as far as the who we should attack, I would say the one that would be weakest. Can we make knowledge checks to discern other features of the enemies, Xabulba?

The hunters are the weakest, then the Voice of the Storm and then Dagon.

If there's a controller in the mix, it makes sense to take that out first if we can - otherwise we're all going to be pushed, pulled and dazed in ways that seriously reduce our effectiveness. I'd guess the Voice or Dagon will have controllery capabilities. Taking out the flyer first maybe?

Clovis's hands go to his daggers and he looks unusually grim.

"I don't think they'll want to play Find the Lady."

Well. they won't be able to teleport us thanks to my Location Mastery: You and allies within 5 can't be teleported against will.

While we're talking about tactics, you're going to doing most of the long-range controlling here. Unless I break out the dailies, I don't have that much isn't a blast or in Beast Form.

"Ah, Dagon. An honor to finally meet the lord of the sea. Oh, and you brought a little spring shower too." The sarcasm in Jack's voice is thick enough to cut with a knife. "Come on lads, let's show these f&%^s the true power of th' storm." He readies his staff, his coat blowing in an unfelt wind.

Male Deva Wizard 29; Planeshifter; Sage of Ages

"Excellent, I was hoping somebody else would provoke him."

Yeah, I'm all over the ranged stuff. And I can leave spaces in my area effect spells.

male Halfling Chaos Sorcerer/Wild Mage/Deadly Trickster 29

Ranged bursts or single target attacks for the most part. I can let myself or an ally within 5 fly 7 as a free action as an at-will. Couple of get out of trouble powers. Clovis's bigger powers have variable effects.

Ok I'll keep the Voice of the Storm and Dagon busy. Is the Storm considered a Daemon/Devil? I'm extra effective against them. One other thing I was curious about if any of my comrades know, I would think Dagon is extra powerful in water, correct?

As for me, a quick run down of my abilites are: 2 multi marking encounter powers, staying close to me is a plus, i can opp attack anyone I've challenged who doesn't attack me; all attacks done by mobs that i've DC/DS are weakened, while demons/devils have -2 to attack (in addition to marked penalty), and targets under my DC/DS still take -2 pen to hit with area/burst/close attacks even if I'm targeted

Male Eladrin Barbarian

I'm going for Dagon. :D

Elwyndas wrote:

lol go for it Elwyndas, but from what I gather I think Dagon is a water based creature, you might be jumping into his home turf, maybe we can lure em out?

Male Eladrin Barbarian

I was proposing to leap onto his back and stab him repeatedly. :D If someone can slide, push or pull Dagon that would be fun.

Elwyndas wrote:

I believe I could lure him to us, Elwyndas, but that's only if the party doesn't mind having Dagon directly infront of us...all I would need is bait...

Akhad looks towards Elwyndas and gives an evil, evil smile...

Druid/Spiral Wind's Ally/Primal Avatar 29

Jack raises his staff and points it at the demon lord. An arc of lightning shoots out to the demon lord.

Using Storm Spike on Dagon(vs Reflex, if he doesn't move at least 2 squares on his turn he takes 8 Lightning damage): 1d20 + 31 ⇒ (7) + 31 = 382d8 + 17 ⇒ (7, 5) + 17 = 29

Dagon laughs contemptuously at Jack as the lightning bolt misses him by inches.

Ah, yes, I meant to say - please can I have drunk my astral mead just before entering the portal? Ohhh-kay. Here we go... Move to AA 20. Charge to AA18 with Howling Strike vs. Voice of the Storm

Elwyndas looks at the mighty stormhead and cries aloud, "I am for you!" and charges to engage the elemental power!

His great spear, Ailindurial claimed from the half-demon corsair lord of Thak glows brightly as the tattooed eladrin grits his teeth and smashes it into his foe.
