Anyone ever seen a module based on the mid 80's computer game Bard's Tale?
No, but I have seen the much more modern re-make with Cary Elwes as the voice of "The Bard."

I quite enjoyed that latest version. The interplay between the bard and the snarky narrator was a lot of fun, well written and voice acted, and different from what you usually see in RPG video games.
A module based on it? Does it come with an old Shield of Ybarra? ;)

man, its the week of me posting about favorite old skool video games!
I -loved- Bard's Tale. Spent months meticulously mapping every square of it on grid paper. Between it and Wizardry, many enjoyable gaming moments from the 80s.
Right there with ya, brother. ;) I recently unearthed the very graph paper pad upon which I scribbled my Bard's Tale mapping from BT 1 and 2.

That has always been one of my all time favorite computer game series.
Why couldn't my AD&D monk kick 9 times for 80 damage?
Fire Horn FTW!
I probably spent the most time playing the Ultima series. I can't imagine the total number of hours spent playing III - V.
A lot of those early computer games influenced my pen and paper gaming. I would love to DM/Play a Bards Tale or Ultima campaign!

I remember those monk kicks and the fire horn! Wow... takes me back.
I was deep into Ultima 3 and 4 as well. I still remember searching a copse for mandrake root for some reason. Strange to imagine a time when the simplest looking little low rez images sparked worlds of imagination within us.

No real resemblance beyond the stolen franchise name.
