Actually inspired somewhat by Gamma World. This went on to inspire Fallout 3.
BTW Fallout:New Vegas comes out in a few months, If I am not mistaken, Fargo has the rights to Wasteland and I would expect alot of what was in Wasteland to be in Fallout: New Vegas (both take place in and around Sin City).
As far as a conversion Michael Johnson 66 has done some real good work on converting Gamma World/D20Modern & Future using the Pathfinder rules.
GW Pathfinder Edition
This of course is GW based which is heavy on tech, mutations, etc. The original Wasteland (yes I am that old), was a little bit lower tech. Still had powered armor, still had robots and lasers so I would say that a toned down version of Michael's GW conversion would be a good place to start. Maybe create some "Desert Rangers" prcs and write up the stats for Snake Squeezins.
If you are looking for something darker, grittier and lower tech (still with all the high tech fun, just less of it) Darwin's World (D20 Modern)is a great game to start. Maybe a hybrid of some of the source campaign material from Darwin's World with the PFRPG conversion rules that Michael has put together. Both work well with PFRPG rules mechanically.
Then again this is all coming from me, so YMMV.

Thanks for the props, buddy! :)

Maybe we can write up a Wasteland campaign supplement for R&W PFPRG. Wouldn't be that difficult to incorporate and features from either Wasteland of Fallout 3 to the rules.
Yeah, definitely. I have never played Wasteland or Fallout 3, but I'll check out what's available online and elsewhere (I think I recall reading about Wasteland on Wikipedia as I was researching post-apoc stuff for R&W, and I have a gamer friend who plays almost every console game that comes out, and I believe he has Fallout 3).
