I'm curious as to whether a laminated graph sheet/map would work with dry erase markers.
Paizo's Flip Mats are true wonders for this sort of thing, even if you only use the basic/blank one. They take wet erase, dry erase and even permanent markers. My long-running game group oo'ed and ah'ed when I showed them the flip mat for the first time.
I once drew an entire dungeon on one side of the map using a permanent Sharpie marker, and then was able to erase it entirely (though it required some patience and good ventilation). Next time, I'm going to use the wet erase, or at least not black out the 'non' room areas...
Plus, they might be around the same price as a heftier combo of lamination/graph paper...
As for the original question, it might depend heavily on the type of lamination (i.e. heat laminated or contact paper). Contact paper, the answer is not very well. Heat laminated, I'm not sure.
That said, I think that dry erase markers greatly speed up the game (less time to clean).
