Play Testing

Society Scenario Submissions

Scarab Sages

Has anybody been play testing their scenarios before submitting them? Just curious. I'm going to finish my submission in the next few days and finally send it it, but was curious if others have been play testing before sending it in.

It's the responsibility of the author to do so and I'm certain at least some do--for example I'll be playtesting Erik's in a few weeks. So I'd suggest that, as a rule, you should playtest it. :-)

The Exchange

What is the procedure for this? Do PTers get to count the XP/GP for their character or do they simply "lose" that opportunity to play it again?

There is no procedure. No scenario looks the same from submission to publication, so I'm not really concerned about it. The folks who I know for certain playtest their scenarios do so with groups who aren't Pathfinder Society players, so the issue has never really come up.

Well, all of my players are also PFS players, so I guess they'll just have to have to deal.

Josh, do you recommend play testing with pregens or their characters, or do you really think it matters?

I recommend playing with anything they wish, so long as what they wish was created using the PFS character generation rules. :-)
