DIY (Paper) Mini?

I just can't find the mini I want for the sheer awesomeness that is my current char.

So I want to make my own...

So for anyone who has trialled and errored before me, what were your findings and have you made a guide?

I appreciate learning from the wisdom of previous pioneers :p

What resolution, what print size works etc.

Well a printed one would be awesome - the capacity to one day learn how to make DIY sculpted 3d ones is on my wishlist :)

Have you considered commissioning an artist to create a mini for you? Several artists lurk about in the Off-Topic Discussions that would be interested in such a thing. And yes, I mean myself as well, for both 2d & 3d. :P
