Animal Companions

Greetings, all.

I have a player that wishes to have a giant crab as an animal companion, and I wanted some opinions as to how I should stat it out.

So, any thoughts?

Hm. I didn't see a companion entry under the giant crab. Thus, the question.

Aren't they vermins and thus bad choices for animal companion? (i.e. none of the druid's "animal" spells would work on it...)

Well, I have the power of rule 0 on my side, so that is not really a problem.

Starting Statistics: Size Small; AC +1 natural armor; Speed 20 ft., swim 30 ft., jet 200 ft.; Attack bite (1d3), tentacles (grab); Ability Scores Str 12, Dex 17, Con 14, Int 2, Wis 12, Cha 3; Special Qualities low-light vision, ink cloud.

Does the 20 ft. mean the octopus can move on land at speed 20?

Yep. It can't breathe, so it's a very unhappy octopus, but it can crawl along the floor.
