Creating maps for players HELP!

How do i remove the trap symbols and the reference numbers from my GM map in my PDF, to make a map/battle grid for my players ?

One method is to export the image without layers in Adobe Acrobat (free trial available). I hear you can do it with earlier versions (pre 9) of Adobe Reader as well.

Leonal's method is best, but if for some reason you can't use those programs, but do happen to have some image editing software, you can take a screencap and paste it into your image editor, and scrub out the offending symbols manually. A lot of times what I do if I am editing something--especially if it was a .jpg to start with, not a .pdf--is I will copy a portion of the wall/floor/grid that is NOT covered with symbols and paste it over the offending section. It's a little time consuming and imperfect, but better than nothing.

Well so far i have tried Leonals suggestions, but for some reason i cannot dl the adobe acrobat free version ( for some reason the dl platform thinks that i do not have windows and declares my pc incompatible ) and i cant seem to find any way to remove any layers in the Adobe reader v. 7.1 i tried for that exact purpose... So i guess im back to square one :/

You might find some other methods in a similar thread at the Fantasy Grounds forums, specifically the one mentioned by developer ddavison.

A PDF to Image extractor might also work. I used it on Howl of the Carrion King, and while you get a *ton* background text, lines, etc. this works quite nice. Here is a freeware one.
