Hey all, I'm making this thread to compile great roleplaying anecdotes from the Rise of the Runelords adventure path and ideas people have for rp moments not outlined in the adventures themselves.
I'll start off. I took an encounter from an old Dungeon adventure when I ran it. After the goblin attack at the Swallowtail Festival, amidst such encounters as the Boar Hunt and the Misadventures of Miss Vinder, a young dwarven girl named Jolie snuck into the sorcerer's room at the Rusty Dragon.
Jolie wanted to grow up to become a great adventurer, but her parents were hearing none of it. The gnome sorcerer found her going through her potions and scrolls when she returned from a night at the Hagfish. It was quite a sight when the gnome dragged the girl back to her parents tugging on her ear with a mage hand spell.

So far, we've had a ton. (My players are 4 weeks into ROTR and they've just finished the Goblin attack and the Shayliss controversy.)
One of the Rogues (Kitt) drank the Hagfish water (took him three tries to keep it down).
The other Rogue tried to pickpocket from the owner of the Pixie's Kitten during the Sherriff's speech. (He was caught and put in manacles until after the Festival. Of course, the goblin attack interrupted that and he not only freed himself, but also saved the life of the guard who was supposed to be arresting him...)
The Paladin (fairly new player) decided to relax and spend a night alone, sleeping on the beach, unarmored. He was attacked by a giant crab (Claker Claw- all Monsterous Creatures that live around small towns should have a name) which resulted in a rapid retreat and some dangerous dodging for several turns until other party members could show up and save him. The party Cleric of Shaelyn wrote a song about it...
There once was a time where
A shore town was attacked.
The beast came from a beach so fair
We could hear it's claws go Clack Clack Clack.
The monster was like some others
(which you might have seen)
And if I had my druthers
I'd have picked the beast's bones clean.
It crawled upon the Sandpoint shore
not too long ago.
It came in search of blood and gore
along the current's flow.
A pal'din by name of Skillum Quigg
Slept snoring at the feet of the ocean big,
when from the tide's own came
a monster, with claws so far from lame.
Skillum awoke, to the mighty crab's claw
turning to run, though no armor on.
fussing about upon the beach,
bleeding but evading the crab's reach.
Into town came them both, a mighty pair
Skillum in his trousers pair.
Kytt the rogue then joined the fight!
dashing in with mirth and might.
Naslyn, Verios and Jakk too.
Also Estle Winterbloom.
Soon dispatched,
the crab collapsed.
The dining was good,
later in the night.
the fight set the mood
for a seafood delight.
-Naslyn Astrogar. :P.
And that's just to start. Right now they are investigating a strange haunting in the attic of the academy..

Nice. I live for the little gaming stories like that.

Because this group has a couple of players who are DD4e players, they are just getting used to actually role playing instead of kick in the door>kill the monster>loot the bodies>wash>rinse>repeat...so there are lots of interesting foibles as they learn to be a team and get to actually explore their characters. (For some reason, two of them have Dance as a skill...and neither is a bard.)
When I get time, I'll post a few more of their antics. (We played Into the Haunted Woods as a Demo game, so some of the RP events have bled over from that.)
However, right now, the Paladin is trying to romance Ameiko. (And actually romance her, not just bed her and be gone...he's trying to learn about her and swoon her and so on...)

One of my player's characters is a 16 year old human sorcerer who wants to be popular with the townspeople. After saving the town from the original goblin raid and gaining hero status he was so happy he went out and got drunk on the town. His rambunctious youth character had spent his life working at the Scarnetti Mill and was getting innundated with love letters. Turns out by the end of the celebration his fellow adventurers contributed to his shotgun wedding, which he found out about when he woke up. Turns out that he married a poor local girl and when he tried to escape the situation her three brothers literally nailed his doors and windows shut until the formal ceremony.
"Gotta get one o' them rich adventurin' fellas in the family."
The bad part is that his character doesn't care and ends up treating her pretty badly, to which out of game our girl players give him hell for, one of which is his girlfriend. Not to mention one of the new wife's brothers took a loan out with the Scarzani to buy the husband a dowry. To which the party's drow rogue who is a member of the Scarzani is having to collect upon, its ok the brother is now only missing 1 finger, could be worse.
Complicated huh? lol

Well, I'd expect a Drow of any sort to be evil...especially in Golarion.

I'll post the short version here; I'm planning on blogging our RotRl game, which started yesterday with the goblin assault, and when I get the first entry up on my LJ I'll edit this and add the link -- or just copy the whole thing if people prefer.
My character is an a Chelish Evoker who moved to Sandpoint from Magnimar a few years ago; he's also fond enough of music and rhyme to wonder if he should have been a bard instead. So when the goblin warchanter started shouting her nasty little goblin song, ("Goblins chew and goblins bite," etc.), he yelled back, "Goblins whine and goblins cry/Goblins flee or goblins die!" while nailing her with a True Strike-directed crossbow bolt (for only 2 hp, unfortunately, but he finished her off the next round with that awesome at-will Magic Missile ability the new Evoker specialist wizard gets to use 3+Int. bonus times a day).
So the next day, he's over at the Rusty Dragon and he and Ameiko put their heads together and write Sandpoint's answer to the Goblin War Song... to the tune of Heather Alexander's The March of Cambreadth.
Sandpoint's Reply
By Kavren Stark and Ameiko Kaijitsu
Goblins bleed and goblins burn,
Men stand fast and goblins turn.
Goblins whine and goblins cry,
Goblins flee or goblins die!
Goblins sink and goblins drown,
Goblins' names get written down.
Goblins fail and goblins fall,
Goblins' ears go on the wall!
Goblins break and run away,
Townsfolk cheer, we've won the day!
Goblins sick and goblins sore,
Goblins come here nevermore!
Hone your spear and string your bow,
Hunt them down where e'er they go.
Sound the horn and call the cry,
How many goblins can we make die!
Of course, Alexander's original lyrics would fit right in, too, and Ameiko seems like the sort who'd know that song. I think we'll probably be hearing it at the Rusty Dragon during our next session. ;-)

The party Cleric of Shaelyn wrote a song about it...
The dining was good,
later in the night.
the fight set the mood
for a seafood delight.
And the bard said to the cleric, "Don't give up your day job." ;-) Seriously, though, cute song; this sort of thing is what makes the game so much more fun than the simple hack, slash, maul, haul (treasure or ass, as the case may be), rinse and repeat routine.
