Urban Druids in Golarion (and Pathfinder)?

Lost Omens Campaign Setting General Discussion

While rereading my Dragon collection, I came across James Jacobs' Urban Druid article (#317, page 30) and was wowed by it all over again. Always wanted to play one, but our DM nixed the idea, darn him. (Would have been a Warforged. Seemed natural.)

Wondering if anyone (especially Mr. Jacobs) has any hints on upgrading/adapting the class to Pathfinder power levels, and on the UD's place in Golarion (I'm thinking Abadar's church would have suborders of 'em).

Also, Mr. Jacobs, what legal maneuvers would have to be done for you to publish an official Pathfinder Urban Druid? Rename and major redesign?

I haven't seen the Urban Druid you mention, but starting location is really just a variant/theme on a normal Druid. Instead of Knowledge Nature you might get Knowledge Local, etc. Maybe if you requested just swapping a few class skills and choose an appropriate animal companion your DM would be more open to the idea.

Same applies to an Urban Ranger, the new Favored Terrain helps with that a lot.

Warforged, I like the race quite a bit myself. I've always wanted a Warforged Paladin on a Clockwork Steed myself. However... Warforged are man-made, not very natural at all. I could see a weird crossed-wiring/Incredible Hulk/Short Circuit type character though that finds himself enamored with cutesy things... animals, children, butterflies, etc.

The biggest problem with updating urban druids to PF is that the wildshape ability is so different. You'd have to come up with a series of construct body spells for the urban druid's wildshape ability to imitate. That said, fans can convert anything they want. There's even a forum a little further down the page just for that. Maybe you could check and see if anyone else has done the heavy lifting already for you?
