PaizoCon 2010 ... Now What?

PaizoCon General Discussion

Liberty's Edge

OK, I have our con tickets and banquet tickets purchased. I have the hotel room reserved and the air fair is being secured.

So ... now what? :)

I was not at the last PaizoCon, so I'm not sure what the next steps are.

I assume at some point event sign ups open up. Do we know when this will happen and what the actual set up will be? Do we know yet how many events there will be and what they will be? I assume there will be a mix of actual games, discussion groups, Q&A's etc.

What else, if anything, happens between now and the time of the con that we need to be a part of?

Thanks! I can't wait for June!

All that good stuff, yes. We're still a ways from announcing all of those sorts of things; when we do, we'll be posting it here and emailing folks; we'll do our best to make sure you don't miss it!

I wouldn't expect to hear anything about the actual events until early next year. This will be my first PaizoCon, but even a con like GenCon doesn't release event information until about 3-4 months before the con.

Liberty's Edge

OK, I'll be patient!

Since this is my first PaizoCon, I'm curious how the games are set up. For those that were at last year's PaizoCon, how many games were there? How long were they? What level ranges? Did you bring characters or were there pre rolled ones for you?

Any info / insight would be great!

(Can you tell I'm excited? :)

A lot of the games were 4 hour PFS slots, while others were 4-6 hr slots of other games. Most of them involved pregen characters provided by the GMs, but every GM sets up their own event so some may allow original PCs next year. Last year there was a call for people to propose events which they were willing to run in about April or so. These were then placed on the schedule and Paizo held a lottery for attendees to select which events they would participate in. I imagine it will work similarly next year. Of course, next time I'll get into all of my first choices, which will be an improvement over PaizoCon 2009.

Next time, "I won't be drunk when I register" is I think what he means.

But I bet that isn't what he means at all. :P

Don't forget to get tickets for Zuxius's room party. Its a blast! :p

Hugo - does that mean you will be there this year?

Hugo was there last year; proof's in the video pudding (may require a Facebook account to view). Look behind my enormous head; at about one minute in, Ed Healy begins taping me and Boomer talking about Fight Club (I'm the guy with the sunglasses; Ben Bruck is the poor guy sammitched between us), and Hugo's the guy in the back corner.

Barring that, if you've got Facbook, Hugo films pretty much all the other videos on my profile. Hell, his Facebook profile photo is him and Erik Mona talking over a copy of the PFCS outside the hotel at Paizocon '09.

Trust me, he was there. And I have the lipstick stains on my collar to prove it. :P

EDIT: Photo evidence (again, on Facebook). Zuxius' pad during one of the after-parties. He's the nose in the left-hand edge of the picture.

I am truly shocked and offended at such a display! There were children present! (Don't believe me, watch the end of that video!)

Don't forget: that sammitch had Bruck Sauce filling, which is almost as sexy as Cattleman Sauce.
