The door is locked, but Althesia is able to unlock it.
This small crampled chamber holds two beds (one of which is covered in bird bones), a small sack, and an array of tools. The other bed looks recently slept in.

Willy advances into the room, axe at the ready.

While Willy goes in, Haunrar has his falchion out and guards the rear.

Thumpy takes a special interest in the tools.

Unless someone climbs onto one of the beds, only two of you can fit into the room.
None of you see or hear anyone. The tools looks like a collection of thieves' tools.

There's a decent sized hole in the wall adjacent the hallway, 5 feet above one of the beds.
"Nothing here." Althesia muttered. Seeing the hole, she climbs up the bed and peers in. "Must have heard us."
Perception to look inside 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (3) + 6 = 9

Well, just give it a quick search then lets move on. We've still seen no sign of those Ironblooms, Deelin calls in a hushed voice from the corridor.

The sun continues to rise, causing the light entering the ruined library to shift. Razorcrows begin to sing their predatory caws outside.
Thumpy yawns a great yawn. "Mmm. I haven't had any sleep at all."
Deelin stands watch out in the hall hoping that the rest of the party would give the room a good search and then we can move on to unexplored areas.

Willy gives both rooms a good search,taking 20 if possible.

In the bedroom, on one of the beds, you find a set of masterwork stonmasonry tools, a small sack of coins, and a ruby gemstone.

Willy jangles the sack of coins and holds up the gemstone piched between his thumb abd forefinger.
Looks like someone was staying here but thy're gone now. Let's move on to the north Deelin says preparing to move down the hall.
Haunrar heads north down the hallway.

Willy shrugs and puts the coins and gem in his pocket, leaving the tools. He leaves the suite last, following the rest down the hallway.
You leave the bedroom and the room covered in rubble, then head down the hallway. Now what?

Haunrar listes at that first door on the left.

Thumpy moves to the side of Haünrar and listens to the door as well.

Deelin too steps forward to listen and then moves back to his position covering all the approaches with his bow.

Haunrar digs a pinky into his ear for a couple seconds, then pulls out a bit of wax and flicks it onto the floor. "Hmm."
does it sound animal or humanoid?
Deelin steps back indicating to everyone to join him then whispers there's something asleep and snoring quite loudly in there. I think we can surprise it if we burst in.
"Um, okay."
Thumpy takes Deelin's suggestion quite literally and slams his shoulder against the door.

the ranger looks startled as the rampaging dwarf hits the door. wincing he comments well thats one way to go I suppose. then readies his bow for the expected carnage.

Willy follows Thumpy through the door, axe in hands.
The door gives way without any resistance. Inside a 15x15 foot room, a pair of wolves jump up from their slumber, taken unaware.
Roll initiative.

not quite what I was expecting says Deelin to himself.

Hmm, Althesia delays until the end of the turn, at least to clear the passageway.
Deelin takes the opportunity to step quickly into the room arrow knocked ready to fire
move into first square inside the room
Despite his great fear of wolves (or because of it) Thumpy rushes in and swings his hammer.

Haunrar moves the spot that Thumpy just vacated.
"Hey wolves, I bet you weren't expecting such a slippery surprise!"
Casts Grease on the corner of the room the wolves are in.
DC 13 Reflex save or fall down.
In the surprise round, you can only make one move action or one standard action.
Althesia: While waiting for the hallway to clear, you hear the pitter-pat of footstep coming up from behind you. You turn just in time to sse a kobold coming at you wielding a decorated short sword in a stabbing manner. "Ack!" It stops just as you face it, switching its grip and preparing to attack at another angle.
