Among the resonant powers for ioun stones, the Nacreous Gray Sphere (p. 52) lists its ability as reducing the miss chance for incorporeal creatures to 25%. I assume under the new rules this would mean damage is reduced only by 25%?
Sorry, I somehow missed this thread.
No, the stone just reduces the miss chance (in the same way that Blind-Fight reduces the miss chance), not the reduction in damage. Basically, reducing the miss chance already has the effect of un-halving your damage, so you don't need it un-halved again by changing the 50% damage rule.

Quick question however, wasn't the 50% miss chance vs. incorporeal creatures removed in PFRPG? I think that was where Yoda's inquiry was coming from.
Thank you.

An incorporeal creature has no physical body. It can be harmed only by other incorporeal creatures, magic weapons or creatures that strike as magic weapons, and spells, spell-like abilities, or supernatural abilities. It is immune to all nonmagical attack forms. Even when hit by spells or magic weapons, it takes only half damage from a corporeal source. Although it is not a magical attack, holy water can affect incorporeal undead. Corporeal spells and effects that do not cause damage only have a 50% chance of affecting an incorporeal creature. Force spells and effects, such as from a magic missile, affect an incorporeal creature normally.
So the 50% miss chance is still there for select situations.

1) Thanks for the bump reminder.
2) Item is correct, as per what Krome quoted (thanks, Krome!). The resonant power does not affect the 50% damage rule for incorporeal creatures.| Sniggevert |
Ahhh! OK, thanks. I wasn't reading the rules out of the bestiary or monster part of the PRD.
Incorporeal: Creatures with the incorporeal condition do not have a physical body. Incorporeal creatures are immune to all nonmagical attack forms. Incorporeal creatures take half damage (50%) from magic weapons, spells, spell-like effects, and supernatural effects. Incorporeal creatures take full damage from other incorporeal creatures and effects, as well as all force effects.
This was what I was finding in the corebook and its PRD part, so you can understand my confusion. =p
Again, thanks for your help!
