PaizoCon 2010 Video questions

Will Paizocon 2010 run with the same policy for video as last year? I am hoping to capture as many of the seminars as possible this upcoming year and tape them.

Also, would you consider allowing taping of the banquet this year? The quiz last year was classic and I would love for those who are not able to attend to be able to at least witness that aspect of it. I would be sure to remove any of the Advanced Players' Guide Preview material if needed (though I'm sure folks would love to see that footage as well even after the release of the APG).

Lastly, if I can get my hands on some not too expensive cameras, I may be looking for some volunteers to help collect footage. I'll have a better idea closer to the date if I can wrangle this, so if you are interested and willing, keep your eyes out on the boards for a posting for volunteers. Until that post, keep your fingers crossed I can swing it by June.

We haven't settled on our filming/photography policy yet. Personally, I wish someone had recorded Erik and I. We were awesome.

Filming events and uploading to YouTube would be great advertising for the 2011 Paizocon.

Indeed, I really do wish it had been filmed as well.

I'll keep my fingers crossed that it mirrors last year's policy (with the possible addition of allowing the banquet to be filmed) and await y'all's official position on it.

Thanks. :)

With the exception of YouTube duration (10 minutes) policy, I agree wholeheartedly. Perhaps a teaser trailer pointing to the full video for each event ... hmmm

Last year, I think the policy was decided the moment the camera came out. I would like to say that some things are perhaps changed by the presence of cameras. People are more reserved when a camera can record their missteps or mistakes. But Paizo isn't a sleezy bunch of worried people and everything they said at PaizoCon was true blue unabashed "this is how it is". Cameras didn't change things in the slightest from what I could tell. Lisa Stevens has assembled quite a group of honest hard-working talent, and the videos prove it, without a doubt.

Corporate suits can't learn much from Paizo.

We had a policy in place before the show started. We just need to review it and determine if that's the same policy for this year.

Wow, I never knew. I asked Lisa and she said "ok", and that was all the policy I needed. :)

I plan to go to PaizoCon and I will definitely be attending some seminars, so I'd be happy to help out.

If you have a Director account, you can go up to 3 hours!

Interesting! I will need to post some of last year's vids up there. I had no idea on the director option. Thanks Andrew!

The Exchange

That would definitely save some time....

Youtube Director accounts are no longer available. They have been replaced with the Youtube Partner account which is harder to get. We have one and would be glad to post any PaizoCon 2009 videos there as long as Lisa, Erik & the rest of the golems are all cool with it.

On that note, Look for Erik & Josh's GamesU 2009 presentations there soon. I hope to post Erik's next week. Will make an announcement on the boards when it is ready.

Just a wee bump ... any word on taping for this year yet?

Sovereign Court

Bump...

Anything set for the video policy yet?

Taping? What is this, 1992?

;-)

Seriously, though, there's a Photography policy on the Paizo Con main page.

Quote:

PaizoCon Photography Policy

You are allowed to photograph or record video during PaizoCon. Please note, however, that any attendee may request that you not record or photograph their event (panel, seminar, private game, etc) and that you must comply with that request. Have fun taking pictures and recording the show, but be respectful of others when doing so.

Excellent!

And yeah, old slang is hard to shake, especially when you have friends than have run in the taper circles for Dead shows and any other "recording friendly" concerts for over 20 years. Heck, I remember when DATs were first unveiled and these folks were chomping at the bit to get one and try to run it through the soundboard. :)
