I'm sure you've seen it by now if your on, but I've replied.

Morning people. A little dazed from sleep, so things to clarify. Is this a different healer or Alika? haha. Who is somehow going from shrill middle-aged woman to a widowed young mother to a non-widowed...hippie? Amusing though.
I'll be very busy today so I'll do a post when I return...hours later. Which might be around 10:30pst. If it's the same healer and I happen to be in the next room, keep me asleep. Well, so much for an english patient subplot. hahaha.

In the event my comment was unclear... these are two very different women several miles (but at most 23 miles) apart.

kyrt-ryder |
Gorgrom is stoned! hahaha dang hippies. That lady sings some pretty good tunes also.
lmao, yeah, but on the plus side he's picked up a healthy chunk of healing.
(And I told you I could play off you just fine lol. Ten years of playing PbP with some very... weird players and I can adapt to almost anything. I do reserve GM right to demand an edit/repost if I must, but odds are low I'll use it.)
Also.. looking forward to seeing how the half-orc handles 'happiness' lmao.

Friar Feres |

I'll give you an example:
One of the more fast-moving PbPs that I am in started a combat on Oct. 21. Now it is Oct. 31 and we are still in the third round of that combat.
Also, I am in the one that Gorgrom mentioned above - some of the players have not posted at all since it started, but then we haven't really gotten a lot of input from the DM either. I have posted to that one once, but again am waiting for some DM input.
I should have Friar Feres first post up later today.
Best Regards!

Yeah, I'm not sure how much freedom the DM wants in that game so I'm always weary on what to post.

ALRIGHT! Baldoin (should be), Loren, and Vagrant poet are all back now, so give me a shout if you guys are ready to continue. (I'll handle Baldoin and Gorgrom's posts as I'm able, but I'm trying to make sure people are ready.
Oh, and MAX! I'm still waiting on you to be ready bud, you were ready to intrude on Gorgrom last time you spoke, so I really hope you actually do it while you have the chance.
(I'm replying to Baldoin first, then Loren, to give you what time I can. Try to have it up soon. Before I go to bed tonight I will have Gorgrom's post up, hopefully incorporating you my friend.)

kyrt-ryder |
Hurry up Max, I need some clerical help before I go against another Dracobald ;) Seriously though, I am ready when you guys are.
Lol, yeah, I'm working on Baldoin's post right now, since his was the one waiting the longest.
Also, by all means discuss multi-classing or feat ideas for your future advancement (probably at most plot out 3 levels ahead, that way your not wasting effort given the possibility the game fell through)
Oh, and Gorgrom, have you chosen your 2 non-core ranger/assassin spells yet? I didn't see them on your profile (though admittedly I haven't looked as recently as perhaps I should have lol.)

Yes, Hunter's Mercy and Arrow Mind as recommended, but mainly because all the rest of the spells in the Spell Compendium are horrible. Though I must admit, I only looked at the Ranger's. Now to look at the Assassin's.

kyrt-ryder |
Oye people, just got back from the airport...and am freshly bathed. Will soon get to reading what I missed. And posting of course.
But first, get to reading the revised thingy. yay 4shared!
My timing so ROCKS! I just got all three of my posts done, so you guys are free to post as your able. As long as I'm awake and home I'll make it a point to check in every hour at least and try to make sure that I reply to you guys quickly.
If this game is moving fast enough and deep, immersive, and entertaining/challenging enough you contemplate quitting other PbP's over it, then I'm doing my job :D

kyrt-ryder |
You didn't even give us a chance to say whether we understand or not Friar! But yeah, I understand, no sweat bro, good luck with the polls. Just try not to get too wrapped up in politics to check in with us from time to time.
(And make sure you get your background filled out asap, assuming it isn't filled out yet, so I can cover you if I have to.)

kyrt-ryder |
Alright Gorgrom, since you've expressed a bit of annoyance I'll run through them after I've replied to Loren, and see what kinds of tweaks I'll make. Might as well start with core actually. (And since I'm starting with core there will likely be a healthy chunk of overlap for you other spellcasters, so keep that in mind guys)
I'll put the document up on 4shared when it's finished.

I didn't mean you have to revise them kyrt. I'm fine with the ranger spells I took. Just saying the assassin ones aren't really worth it.

I know, but as you should well know by now, I'm a balance nut lol, I was looking through them and saw so many ways they should be better, so once I've replied to Loren, assuming Baldoin doesn't post by that point, I'll be working on them.
However, one thing I will be implementing that will reduce the number that need to be edited (and reduce the amount of editing need) is to bring back the Ranger's (and by extension the Paladin's) ability to prepare any spell from their list.
In the morning, if you know you'll need X non-core spell, you can prepare it even though you don't know it, but that slot is taken up and can't be used spontaneously. (So, for example, if you need to track something at low levels before your bonus gets high enough you can prepare one of the track booster spells)

Baldoin Balagtas |

I return! again. Past few days have been a doozy, the horrors of enrollment and all. And the part where I keep falling asleep for long periods of time.
Kyrt, I'm passing the consequence ball to you. I have a good idea of what I want to happen after the stabbyness, but I might overdo it. I'm starting to get used to the ball passing.
Oh and gorgrom, yeah, I'm still in for Catman's, just gimme a moment to..uh..work out the specifics. Of some specific thing I have to..work out. Yeah, I'll get right to it.

Max Hellspont |

Sorry! I've been fighting with a computer virus this evening since I got the kids to bed, and still haven't been able to get the darn thing de-virused. Had to wait for the wife to get home from class so I could use her laptop. Will have post up shortly.
Lost the election (came in third in race for two council seats), so will now have more time for PbP's! Every cloud has a silver lining!
-Max

Max Hellspont |

Hey Max and Game, you guys still in for Catman's Expedition to Undermountain? He's been asking.
I'm not sure. The three of us have posted pretty extensive starting write-ups for our characters (especially you!), and have pretty much gotten no feedback from the DM. I'd be willing to continue if we got more DM input...
And you know, there's this other REALLY COOL PbP that so far I've been pretty lax in posting to; I should probably give it some attention as well! ;o)

kyrt-ryder |
Hey Vagrant-Poet, I was looking at your bio while working on my (admittedly late) reply, and I noticed something. You forgot that Sorcerers get 4+int skill points per level. That means, as a human, you automatically get 1 more skill point per level than you thought (I might suggest putting them into perception, especially since your bloodline augments that skill.
(Also, that assumes you want to put your favored class bonus into HP, which raises your HP by 2, otherwise you could choose another skill as well.
Btw, again, sorry it took so long. Writer's block hit me when I read it and I've had to do some work to break it.
Btw, Max, don't forget to reply to Gorgrom, this is all you guys until you shove out or come back to see Willow before you leave.
(Also a final note, if you wanted to be a priest of Farlangh or however it's spelled but would prefer to just be a straight up bard that's entirely cool, it's not like your stuff has been used in combat yet. Your welcome to redesign him as a pure bard if you so choose, in which case it might be advisable to shift wisdom and dex and trade intuitive attack for weapon finesse, which would up your damage, maintain your stat based accuracy (ontop of an extra BAB), and improve your AC.)
Your choice my friend, just wanted to point out the concept would be entirely legitimate as a pure bard incase you would prefer that.

kyrt-ryder |
I do hope you guys know your welcome, and even encouraged to discuss the game in here. Your thoughts on what's happened so far, your goals for further character development, your plans, etc etc.
Also, just so you guys know, the nature of the world is starting to shape in my head. If I can get my hands on some decent mapping software (Geo/Political, not tactical, this is because I fail at computer drawings not to change the combat style lol) I'll see if I can put together a map of what's been unveiled so far.
(Just keep in mind it will have large swaths of blank space and wilderness in which there very well may be towns, cities, palaces, dungeons, etc etc etc that just haven't been identified in game yet.)

Baldoin Balagtas |

Hmm, thoughts...are gravitating towards cake. I'd post a reply to the plot hook but I'm very much burned out, and my characters get snarky when that happens. Anyway, by your post I guess it's time to leave the little firestarter and Alika. Will post a reply later, when I can think of something to say. Any thoughts?
Anyway, looking forward to meeting another pc. And kicking fire elementals.

Burned out?
Is everything alright bro?
Hmm, thoughts on what to say. Well, you're from an order that, as far as I can tell, is pretty Aesthetically distant, so you might help her maintain her dignity and keep your distance as you ask for more information.
Alternatively, you might embrace her and comfort her etc.
There are hundreds of other possibilities out there (including ignoring her plight entirely lol, though you said you wanted to roll with that) feel free to throw up a few suggestions for discussion.
EDIT: One last thing...
Burned out lol, Did you realize that was a pun given the situation? (Note I'm not making light of the statement, I'd still like to know why your burned out and what I can do to help make things more interesting/involving)

Baldoin Balagtas |

Well the usual, writer's block, people dying, enrollment difficulties. Didn't notice the pun till you pointed it out. Haha.
Anyway, I've taken a slightly different option. I should probably start listing down what Baldoin's likely to do, and things like his obligations, but it just comes up as I write it down. For instance, he can't refuse to help Alika, because Alika is the one who patched him up. I think.
Mostly I'm preparing to leave their house, so like the confrontation with Alika, Shaina gets her own talk time, though how it will turn out, (and what Shaina actually is..or has..or something) I dunno. Haha. At one point I thought it would be fun to have Shaina tag along when Baldoin leaves. hmm....
I dunno, mindless speculation.
EDIT: Huh, quick reply. Haha. Hmm, I shall proceed to not hurt myself thinking.

It's possible she could come with, but I won't know that until I post it lol.
Speculation is cool :), speculation fosters creativity which fosters creation.
Also, I've got a bit of an idea of what Shaina-Jean is, but it's still forming and could end up being something else.

Gorgrom the Relentless |

How's everyone doing? Just wanted to post in here cuz kyrt is always riding us to do so! J/K LOL. I am probably gonna stay with ranger, I don't see any point in cross classing for me. Not quite sure about feats yet. Maybe some weapon focus for my bow and the one for bows like power attack (can't remember the name). Next favored enemy will probably be civilized humanoids and favored terrain, temperate forests. For my Hunter's Bond, I'm not certain which one I want. The animal is cool but the bonuses are also nice. I guess we'll see when I get there. Alright back to work, LOL yeah right. :)

kyrt-ryder |
LOL, I'm doing alright.
Sorry for the pressure, but the more we discuss things here, the better the game can be. It's all about maintaining discourse among players and GM.
Weapon Focus longbow is a fairly sweet feat. If you take it at level 3 thats a +1 accuracy, and then a +2 damage once you hit level 4, so it's probably a better choice at the moment than Deadly Aim (ranged power attack) But I suspect that it's a rock solid feat for your 5th level, especially since by then you'll have picked up the option (and it is an option, you get to choose how much to sacrifice) to drop 2 points of accuracy for +4 damage.
