PFRPG & Books of Experimental Might: Compatible?

Lost Omens Campaign Setting General Discussion

With the PFRPG now in hand, next month's gaming budget is freed up for some other wish-list items. Given the PFRPG's redesign to avoid "dead levels", I was wondering if some of the rules/expansions in the Books of Experimental Might could be used to do the following (either/or, or both):

1. Supplement PFRPG. If so, any recommendations on what would work well and what to avoid?

2. Help give 3PP created classes the PF "boost" necessary to put them on par with PF classes? Filling in dead levels with Bonus Feats is certainly viable but I'm wondering if the BoXM would provide additional options that might be a little sexier than just peppering a class with bonus feats.

I am curious about this as well. That and what y'all think of the runeblade

For BoXM #1, I would say no, it is not compatible, as it is essential a complete new Cleric, Druid and Wizard class. However, the Paladin and Ranger as non-spellcasting classes might work.

For BoXM #2, probably, as it is about fighting, however it would be difficult to mix'n'match between PfRPG & BoXM2.

The domain fighting stuff should work out well since fighters pretty much have a feat every level as advocated by the BOXM.

Thanks guys. That's kind of the sense I got from the product blurbs but I thought perhaps there were more rules options. I may still pick it up for the fighter domains/styles but it sounds like the rest won't really apply.

Scarab Sages

BoXM2 would need a couple changes for the double feats, since Fighters no longer get a pair of feats at certain levels like they did in 6th level.

I think you could probably substitute a Melee domain for Weapon Training as well...

I'll have to look through my BoXM2 again to see how it will work out.

No problem. Note BOXM, besides the fighter feats and domains, offers a system on "boosting" them which is easily compatible with PFRPG; the runeblade (just slap on a capstone ability); and lots and lots of spells. You can easily ignore the other stuff (i.e., Disciplines, Grace, twenty levels of spells, etc.)

I played the runeblade to level eight and it was great! Had a very nice gish feel to it.
