Get some Clariton and spend the day in bed. You deserve it.

Thanks. I don't think I have much choice. I can't talk because my voice is gone, so no phone calls today. Plus, he was originally supposed to travel today, but changed his plans to Wednesday to Friday instead. (and you can bet he'll find a way to leave late on Wed and come back early on Fri.) So, I'm pretty much just stuck in a holding pattern anyways.

Howdy folks. Still in Houston, but it's getting near to the point where I can't wait to leave. I tend to forget that my younger brother is kind of an asswhole who loves nothing more than to argue with people sometimes, just so he can attempt to prove them wrong.

If we could cull out the people that are just there to not be somewhere else it'd be a lot more fun.

I ran a Saturday night game a few weeks ago for 4 of the good players and they loved it. Aside from wanting a 5th person, they all commented about how fun it was to get together and actually get a lot of fun in.

Our D&D group is 10 players, although we usually only get between 5-7 show up regularly (including the GM). It can be a bit hectic when all 10 of us are there, but not unmanagable.

Yeah, we're hitting 8-10 every week. It wouldn't be so bad except for a few are just there to 'not be somewhere else'. They distract those of us that are there to game. The game comes to a screeching halt when it's their action. *argh!*

Flash: Hope your work situation improves before the surprise Australian Zombie Invasion kicks off in two weeks- er, rats. Ummm, could you try to act surprised when the zombies pop in for a bite to eat?

Please bring on the Zombies... I would prefer them right now. :/

Work is not going to be any better any time soon. I went a little nuts today and decided to bruise my hand by slamming it into a tiled wall half a dozen times, followed closely by the wooden back door another half a dozen times to the tune of more expletives than one would normally think it necessary to use...

It also appears that on our equal busiest day of the week (Friday) I can get nobody to work. This means that instead of having 3-4 people on over lunch there will be just me, at least until 1pm which is just enough time to catch the last half of it. Not to mention the fact that I am supposed to be doing a delivery at 12pm that day as well.

Add in to that the fact that as predicted I did not get one of the jobs I applied for and this week is already shaping up to be yet another fun-filled ride into the suckitude that my life is fast becoming.

Of course then theres also the arguments that have started up yet again.

Not to mention other news that made my day start out depressing enough.

All in all, while obviously nowhere near as bad as a lot of you, my life right now is just one big depressing ball of stress that refuses to bounce and likes to roll around under the dirty counter collecting crap. :(

*man hugs*

Sorry, dude.

MSNBC is reporting that a gunman took a school principle hostage in Upstate New York. I hope all our Paizonians are safe.

It's really fun isn't it. It's even more fun when they sit on your couch and do it when you invite them over.

I'd love to have/be in a session where everyone worked together/was interested in the game. 1 guy dislikes fantasy, so I'm not sure why he's even there on those weeks. 2 guys are there to smoke pot and kibitz at the table. Another can't follow what his characters can do regardless of game system, and his 20 yrs plus gaming. Yet another likes to play 'I have a secret'. And lastly one has way too much time on his hand and constantly comes up with 'creative challenges' for the GM. Then there's the power gamer....

Yep, our sessions can drag without a lot of effort on the GM's part. Frustrating for me since I'm the analytical and organized type.

Thankfully, I don't have a lot of room in my house. In fact, if we ever have a kid, we won't have any room for extra people, which is just fine by me.

I will say that at least the ones who show up are, generally, focused on the game. We used to have 10 players though, but they have slowly drifted off. They don't like my style as a GM.

Dark Archive

Our old GM was very much a power gamers wet dream. He handed out magical items to each character at the start of the campaign. One player started the campaign with a necklace of fireballs IV and a portable fortress. I am the exact opposite. I believe that magical weapons are awe inspiring for a reason. There is not a magic weapon shop in ever villige in my campaign like there was in the old campaign. Despite making fun of our old DM for the very things I described, after he moved most of our players disappeared.

Spoiler:
Another ambush relationship talk. :(
On the not as sucky side, it finally got through to him that he is creeping me out, and he agreed to at least a short term separation. Yay. That's a terrible thing to say yay about, I know. But I can't continue to share living space with someone who scares me. Now I have to try and figure out how to explain things to my kid.
