I just applied for what has to be the best job ever. It is a job testing slot machines and pinball machines. Now if I could find a job as professional RPG playtester, my life would be awesome.
*perk* Pinball? Have you played the Twilight Zone pinball game? I discovered it one summer and sank ten dollars into it almost every time I played..LOVED that game.

So of course the fax at the doc office was broke. Which means that they didn't recieve the fax from Kellen's therapist...which means no meds till tomorrow. *sigh*
Which meds would these be, if you don't mind me asking? I'm just curious, I'm going to be at work a little while longer and might be able to give you more information if you wish.

They have decided to start him on Adderal. Uhm, the Vyvanse was way too expensive, and made by Adderal anyways. The pharmisist tells me they are comparable. ?

For Adderall, I'm going to give you the information I have in my book from a great(now defunct) website called crazymeds. I do hope the guy who runs it decides to start doing it again, it was a true godsend for my people.
Adderall:
Generic Name: amphetamine salts: dextroamphetamine saccharate, dextroamphetamine sulfate USP, amphetamine aspartate and amphetamine sulfate USP
Class: Stimulant
Other Forms: Extended Release(XR)
FDA Approved Uses of Adderall: Approved in February 1996 to treat Atttention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder in children. The immediate relase form is also approved for Narcolepsy and exogenous obesity. The XR form was also approved in August of 2004 to treat ADHD in adults.
Off Label Uses of Adderall: Depression. Probably others, stay tuned for more studies and more potential off label uses.
Adderall's Pros and Cons:
Pros: A tried and true way to treat ADD/ADHD and narcolepsy. Like most amphetamines it doesn't have much in the way of side effects, fewer than the methylphenidates(Ritalin, Focalin, Concerta)
Cons: Those triplicate prescriptions are a pain in the ass to deal with. If you have ANY history f dru abuse the odds are you'll enver get an Addreall prescription no matter how much you've cleaned up your act and how helpful it will be to use. Because its an amphetamine it might be a little too much fun for some people.
Here is the ask a patient.com link for adderall.
Vynvase I have NO information on, which disturbs me. Given the nature of the site at the time it could be because they were focusing more on antipsychotics, atypical antipsychotics and antidepressants. However, here is the information on Vynvase at the same askapatient.comsite.
Hope that helps!

Glad to hear about Tracy getting better. That's awesome! :)
And Mac, I'm very happy that you were able to get the reception hall sorted. :)
Solnes, good luck getting everything figured out with the meds.
I'm about to head out to meet a friend for dinner. I'll check back in again later.
