I don't have any of the 3.5 class books, so I had to go back to my old 3.0 to find this prestige class. (Is there a similar one for 3.5?)

Requirements:
Knowledge (Arcana): 5 ranks
Spell Focus (Divination)

HD: d6
Skill Points at each level: 2 + Int
Class Skills: Craft, Heal, Intimidate, Knowledge (Any), Profession, Sense Motive, Spellcraft
Weapon Proficiency: Simple weapons, no armor or shields.

Prestige Domain: Divination
Granted Powers:You have access to knowledge beyond the ken of most mortals. Because a Prestige domain does not have a particular spellcaster level associated with it, the first granted power of a Prestige domain is given when the domain is first obtained and the second granted power is given a number of levels beyond that point.
Oracular Fate (Sp): You can touch a living creature as a standard action, granting it a +2 insight bonus to AC, attack rolls, and saving throws for one round for every two spellcaster levels you possess. You can use this ability a number of times per day equal to 3 + your Wisdom modifier.
Recall Destiny (Su): Five levels after you gain access to the Divination prestige domain, you are granted access to knowledge that will save the life of you or your companions. At the end of one round of actions, all characters involved may treat the round as a round of divine visions. You use an immediate action so that everything within 400 feet of you reverts to the exact same conditions it was in at the beginning of the round. Creatures and objects that have moved outside this area are immune. You may use this ability once per day when you first receive it, and an additional time per day for every four levels beyond.
Domain Spells: 1st - identify, 2nd - augury, 3rd - divination, 4th - scrying, 5th - commune, 6th - legend lore, 7th - greater scrying, 8th - discern location, 9th - foresight

Scrying Bonus (Su) The DC of a divine oracle's scrying spells are increased by her Divine Oracle level. In addition, if any % chances are listed for success of special scrying abilities, they are increased by the same amount.

Prescient Sense (Ex) If a divine oracle makes a successful Reflex saving throw against an attack that normally inflicts half damage on a successful save, she instead suffers no damage.

Divination Enhancement (Ex) The percentage chance of any spells which offer a percentage chance of finding useful information is increased in the divine oracle's favor by a number of percentage points equal to her divine oracle level. The divine oracle receives a bonus equal to her divine oracle level to saving throws against spells that attempt to detect her divination spells.

Uncanny Dodge (Ex)


  • 4th level: Retains dexterity bonus to AC even if flat-footed.
  • 6th level: Can only be flanked by a character four levels higher than her class level.
  • 8th level: +2 competence bonus to saving throws against traps, +2 competence bonus to AC against trap's attacks

No Surprise (Su) The divine oracle can never be surprised, and can often act before those who attempt to surprise her. Any time an opponent of a divine oracle with this ability attempts to surprise her, the divine oracle may make a will save (DC = 10 + the opponent's class level) to sense the attack or surprise before it occurs. If successful, the divine oracle may make a swift, free, immediate, or standard action before the surprise round as though she were fully aware of her opponents. Even if the save is failed, the divine oracle acts normally in the surprise round.

Erm, the 3.5 version of this class is in Complete Divine.

Back in my first 3ed campaign I played a Cleric/Wizard (big mistake number 1) and my GM didn't allow me to take the Mystic Theureg (because he thought they are OP, big mistake number 2), so I took the Divine Oracle (big mistake number 3).

This is a good NPC PrC, but for players it's a big no-no.

That was my feeling too, I could see it as a great NPC class. An Adept, or even an Expert or Aristocrat.


Where as I always saw it as a great 2 level dip. Evasion without the restrictions? Yes, please.

Also, since clerics don't get their domain abilities unless they remain in the cleric class, I recommend basing them on the Divine oracle class, and not character level. Otherwise, you've still got a dipping class.

I wanted to leave it more or less open, in case the Prestige Domain was offered by other sources or prestige classes. The way it is now, the Prestige domain can effectively be offered after a class dip at 6th level, with the greater domain ability at 11th class level. A second use of the greater domain ability at 15th class level, and a third at 19th class level. That seems okay to me, but game mechanics experts are free and welcome to disagree with me.
