I liked the set pieces.
If you didn't like them, more power to you; you won; please don't clutter my thread; I read it all....bla bla bla; I don't need a lecture from you. I'm not looking for a fawning lovethread or to quell disagreement, I just don't care if you didn't like them. It's boring to me.
It's boring. I'm over it.
So, that being said, did anybody else like them?

I liked them, for all the problems they had they were a good idea. I see why they were ultimately abandoned again - but something about a tiny "modular adventure location with minimum story" just keeps nagging at me as having an awful lot of potential.
All in all, I wanted them to work because they represent the ultimate GM utility - just a fistful of scenery, plot and monsters.

I liked them. I saw some problems, but nothing I couldn't do work arounds and additions/changes to make fit somewhere. And if they wouldn't work for my particular campaign, they were still a nice little bit of goodness to run for a pickup group or at a game store to introduce folks to Paizo. I don't *yet* have the PFS scenarios, will have to wait for a money windfall to justify getting something I won't use for ages :)
I will miss the set pieces, though I understand why they are going away.

I hated them. They sucked.
Not really, but you made a point of saying you didn't want that sort of talk in here so I felt I had to say it. You know, the whole being contrary thing we Chaotics do.
Anyway, I wasn't totally mad about Set Pieces, but I liked the concept: A lot of locations in the adventures weren't completely necessary to the adventures and could do well on their own.
I think they did a good enough job of including those into the paths.
And now they're gone.
But that is not dead which can eternal lie.
Let's propose this to Paizo: The Set Piece Sidebar! As there is, as we all know (or do we?), one or more locations in most adventures that can work as a solo, without the rest of the adventure.
I think it won't be too hard to identify those pieces and put in a short sidebar, explaining some alternate motivators/hooks for why the heroes would stumble into that meat grinder.
