Female Human Inquisitor 4

Komana looks carefully, idly brushing her leather over-skirt off with one hand while she focuses her attention on the symbols.

'The middle one I beleive, hopefully my memory is in better form than my gracefulness,' a thin smile tugs at her lips, quickly subsumed into serious attention as she turns back to Soven expectantly.

m human (taldor) mnk1,ftr3

Soven smiles and tries to relax.
Soven knows draconic so if the symbol is close, Soven should be able to identify it.
Of course there is always room for error on his part, maybe the symbol is close in appearance to others. Let me know if you want me to make a check of some sort, Stardust. Linguistics, maybe?

Linguistics check 12+7=19

Liberty's Edge

Reading the Sign:

The draconic symbol is not a linguistic one, but it contains elements of certain symbols that you can easily identify, namely the symbol of vorel and vervish beauty and strength. A small crown symbol has been incorporated into the draconic symbol, but that is difficult to interpret as it is not a common draconic motif.

m human (taldor) mnk1,ftr3

Soven looks closely at the symbol for a few moments, frowning and nodding
before taking a deep breath.
This really seems to be more symbolic than an actual word or letter as we know language to be.
Here are two parts of the symbol that are vorel and vervish- beauty and strength respectively.
There is also a crown symbol in this larger symbol as a whole. This is rather different, as the Dragons do not use "crown" very often. Rarely at all in fact.
Perhaps this a more of a crest or coat-of-arms to speak. Also, to be truthful, I am no scholar in things dragon, this could easily be a derivative of the dragon language or a form of expression that I am unaware of.

Female Human Inquisitor 4

'Hmm, that's interesting,' Komana says, pursing her lips.

"The symbol is not particularly evocative of Hermea, which suggests that my suspicion that that arrogant 'master of arts martial, magic and ki' woman was involved may have been unfounded." Iacobus says, apparently thinking out loud. "Perhaps I just didn't like her her attitude and am looking for pretexts to justify that."

While nattering on, Iacobus wracks his brain for knowledge of what sort of heraldic device, land or faith this symbol might represent.

Knowledge (nobility, history or religion), they're all +8, and he'll use whatever works. 22

He continues muttering to himself, "Beauty and strength, of all the powers worshipped by man, silken-skinned Arshea, patron of freedom and sexuality, is the closest I can think of, but she has no connection to draconic lore, that I know of..."

Female Human Inquisitor 4

'Hmm, nor would I know any reason for that Emphereal to be involved. Unless this investigation deals with her portfilios. I think speculation with so little to go on may be dangerous, if we form convictions, we may neatly sidestep the truth of the matter, I beleive the bell will ring soon, tomorrow we will see what we will see, and perhaps shed some light on this incident. I would maybe suggest that we keep this little incident to ourselves. Agreed?'

m human (taldor) mnk1,ftr3

I certainly can see sound reason in keeping silence the order for now. Very well Komana, I will remain quiet on this matter. Iacobus, I will defer to your and Komanas expertise on matters religous, perhaps even our other companions have some input on the matter. I think I will make prepartions for tommorow now and clean up our mess.

Soven puts the table back upright and places items back in their place, meanwhile the small black cat investigates the event before becoming bored and heading back to the Taldanes obscenely large hat to play with the many feathers attached to it.
Soven puts together an elaborate set up for his sleeping area, muttering in an amused tone something about ordering codryian pillows and a perfume massage. Soven also pulls out a small book that is very old and is written in draconic.

Iacobus:
The Knowledge nobility check reminds you of a heraldic device. The ornate heraldry of the Pathfinder Society includes a key in its symbolism, representing the search for truth. But the draconic symbol remains an unfortunate mystery.

Male Half-Orc Rogue 4

The whole thing seemed a bit off to Dakgu, but he took it all in with a grain of salt. He was in a Pathfinder lodge. Odd things were bound to happen. With a shrug he nodded at the suggestion to keep things quiet about the strange bird and with a polite goodnight, retired for the evening. He left his door open though. Should something else occur he wanted to hear it.

Female Human Inquisitor 4

Komana sat back down, failing to immediately follow her own voice, she drank the a glass of wine slowly, one hand supporting her forehead, deep in thought.

After a while, she too retired, to see what light the dawn would bring.

Komana awakens early and prepares spells.

Liberty's Edge

As you all awaken:

By the light of the small window in the ceiling of everyone's private rooms, you notice that the light focuses on a three-dimensional "sculpture" (insert appropriate word here) of the coat of arms of the Pathfinder Society on the back of the door to each of the personal quarters: Two swords crossed over a shield with a key between them. The shield has a lion's head carefully painted on it. A metal banner ribbons around the shield: "Exploration, Curiosity, Legacy".

The Exchange

Male Human Bard 4

Iacobus uses prestidigitation to freshen up his clothing before getting dressed, and then steps up onto the bed (or a chair, whatever) to get a closer look at the heraldric crest, casting detect magic as he does.

"Legacy," he mutters to himself. "The legacy of studying history and ancient cultures, or some very much more specific and personal legacy?"

Still, nothing about the Pathfinder Society crest evokes a sense of 'beauty', or even strength, specifically, although a weaponsmith might consider a naked sword both of those things, and someone with tastes far different than his own, a lioness, perhaps, might find a lion beautiful...

Stepping down after his examination, during which he impulsively touches the crest, to see if the bas-relief key can be removed and used as such, or is simply part of the design, Iacobus steps out into the central area to see if their magically-extravagant hosts have ensorcelled up some breakfast.

Liberty's Edge

Iacobus:
The key is removable (don't say anything about it to the others until they also say they're removing it), and has a faint aura of transmutation. Tell me in spoiler if you interact with the key.

The Exchange

Male Human Bard 4

stardust

Spoiler:
Iacobus examines the key, making a Spellcraft check to determine what it does (DC 15 + items CL). 25 spellcraft check. .

He'll also use any Knowledge skills that seem appropriate and also look for a keyhole in his room. +8 to various Knowledge skills, not sure what, if anything, is relevant.

He does not intend to keep the information quiet after meeting up with the others, as he wants to pick Komana's brain as well, and considers this to be a team event, which will eventually require the skills of everyone to beat the other teams. Obviously, if you want me to delay telling them to give them a chance to find stuff, that's cool.

Female Human Inquisitor 4

Noting the crest and insignia, Komana quickly sketches it down, with a note metioning the inscription.

Upon preparing her spells and making her prays to Abadar, she rises, dresses fully for adventure and danger, and walks into the common room to see what awaits her this day.

Iacobus:
I did want to give everyone a chance to interact with the relief (that was the word I was looking for earlier), but once you are in the common room together, you may talk about it. (I just didn't want you posting about it until others had a chance to look at it.)

Spellcraft: As you study the key in your hand, and psychically enter the swirling energies of its magical construction, you suddenly see a flash of the key being brought together with other keys similar to itself.

The Exchange

Male Human Bard 4

Iacobus steps forth into the central room, accompanied by a faint scent of incense reminiscent of aged books. He is already masked to greet the day and his battered haversack, as always, is at hand.

He is, of course, expressionless, but tilts his head in greeting, the amount and duration precisely measured to acknowledge a respected equal.

Komana

Spoiler:
Noting that the others have not yet arisen, he shows you a decorative key, speaking softly as he does.

"I suspect that each of our rooms contain one, in the bas-relief over our beds. My lord whispers to me that something might occur, if our keys are brought together..."

Female Human Inquisitor 4

Komana walks into her room, making little noise.

Spoiler:

Komana searches the bas-releif for the key.

Soven wakes up early in the morning and changes out of his opulent sleeping attire into something plain to begin his morning exercise and martial training regiment.
He is quiet so as not to disturb his companions, after bathing and freshening up, Soven writes a few letters of correspondence to family and a couple ladies of note.
This is followed by prayer to Desna at sunrise.

Soven finds the door's decor, and the channeling of sunlight to embellish it, to be pleasant and well thought out.
Expecting something interesting today, Soven puts on his elaborate attire and everything else, to include his well fitted breastplate. Got to carry it, might as well wear it.
Soven also straps his sword to his side, the black longsword has a gold decorative and elaborate handguard often seen on rapiers. Three red roses are tied onto one the many twisting gold ribbons of metal that compose the protective handguard.
Opening the door, Soven goes out to greet whoever may be up.
Nodding to Iacobus, Soven notes Komana seems to be up as well although she has gone back to her room.
Has breakfast been delivered by a Dragon, or do we make it ourself this morning?

Stardust

Spoiler:
Zalania is up

Komana:
Since the light streaming in through the window rests directly on the bas-relief of the coat of arms of the Pathfinder Society, the key is easy to find.

Oops. I thought Holur was going to post something. :( Sorry, I missed that last call.

Female Human Inquisitor 4

Komana strides back into the main room, her fist clenched around something.

Soven, Iacobus:

Spoiler:

She looks to Iacobus, 'I found the key alright, we should bring them together you say.'

Pausing thoughtfully, she turns to Soven, 'Will you please check in the bas-releif in your room, it should be easy to find your one of these,' She holds up the key to be clear to see.'

Male Half-Orc Rogue 4

With a loud yawn accompanied by a series of popping and snapping sounds, Dakgu emerges from his room rubbing the sleep out of his eyes. He looks around and listens to what the others are saying about keys. With a shrug he goes into his room and searches the relief.

Dakgu:
You find the key in the center of the relief.

(Since everyone has now discovered the keys in their personal quarters, you can talk about them openly.)

Female Human Inquisitor 4

'So, the question now is, what do we do with them, you said something about putting them together?' Komana looks at Iacobus.

m human (taldor) mnk1,ftr3

Soven returns from his room with the key and looks at Iacobus, awaiting his response to Komana's inquiry.
Curiosity is the key....

The Exchange

Male Human Bard 4

Hoisting his backback on one shoulder, Iacobus holds up his key towards the others, as if offering up a toast. "Perhaps if they all touch, we shall receive our answer?"

"Or, more likely, an entirely new set of questions..." he finishes.

Female Human Inquisitor 4

'Nothing ventured...' Komana trails off as she touches her key to Iacobus'.

Liberty's Edge

Like magnets attracted to one another, when held together the keys pull towards each other and adhere side to side. There is suddenly a sense of suspension in the air around the keys, as though some sort of magical event is about to take place.

Male Half-Orc Rogue 4

"Yea an curiosity killed the cat, I think I'll stand over here just in case."

So saying Dakgu took cover behind his doorway.

The Exchange

Male Human Bard 4

Iacobus looks directly above the table, and then below it (and on the surface of the table itself, perhaps under a cloth), to see if there is yet another Pathfinder seal tucked away, suddenly wondering if the now-combined key might open a doorway that they have not yet seen.

Invisible Castle is down, rolled a 3 (+4) for Perception for a total of 7. Oy.

You find nothing of interest.

Detect Magic:
The two welded keys have a faint aura of transmutation. The two keys seem to now have two auras that are melding with one another. There are small tendrils of magical aura that are lashing around as though trying to grasp onto something, reaching out from each of the welded keys.

Female Human Inquisitor 4

'Put the other keys onto those two, Dakgu, Soven, let's see what is to be seen!'

m human (taldor) mnk1,ftr3

Soven raises the key to the others and holds his breath.
He studies the faces of Komana and Iacobus for an indication of success or at least the result.

Male Half-Orc Rogue 4

"Crap, so much for playin it safe."

Walking forward, Dakgu adds his key to the mix.

"Here goes nothin."

Liberty's Edge

The four keys pull together like magnets, forming an arc that nearly closes into a circle. The feeling of energy building around the keys is stronger than ever.

Female Human Inquisitor 4

Has anything changed in my detect magic view other than an increase in power?

Female Human Inquisitor 4

Stardust

Spoiler:
Kaelor hasn't posted in over a month and a half, have you got his email? The actual guy, Radovan, is still active.

Komana looks at the unopened door, where Kaelor had retired.

'Hey, someone wake up our elven companion and get his key!'

She keeps studying the keys, watching for any fluctuations in the aura.

Liberty's Edge

I don't have Kaelor's e-mail, so unfortunately I haven't been able to contact him. It looks like he might have dropped the game, so unless he shows up soon, he'll be relegated to NPC status.

The Exchange

Male Human Bard 4

"I've heard a rumor that elves sometimes go into some trance or something," Iacobus mutters, going over to his door and pushing it open, with no apparent regard for the elf's privacy.

"Or maybe he's preparing spells and not to be disturbed." he says aloud in the nick of too late, having already opened the door...

Liberty's Edge

Okay, here goes.

Kaelor is not within his room. No one has seen him since he left the chambers with an obviously keen interest in the library.

The door to the room opens easily, the bed has not been disturbed.

m human (taldor) mnk1,ftr3

Soven sighs in an unsuccessful attempt to hide his surprise at the elves absence.
Desna's path! I say, you never can know the mind of an elf. Worse than gnomes sometimes..... Well, let's at least see if his key is there.

The Exchange

Male Human Bard 4

Wasting no time, Iacobus hops up on Kaelor's bed and attempts to wrest his key from it's resting place.

Female Human Inquisitor 4

'The Laughing Ones are unknowable,' Komana states the old River Kingdoms adage.

'Let's get these together, we can fill him in if anything interesting happens!'

Liberty's Edge

The key is easily removed from the bas-relief.

The Exchange

Male Human Bard 4

Iacobus hops down from the bed and brings the fifth key to bind with it's mates.
