Not sure if anybody brought this up yet, but it looks like German and Italian translations of PFRPG are scheudlued to appear in September !
GERMAN TRANSLATION
ITALIAN TRANSLATION
Also, a French version is apparently in the works, but no dates are given:
Go Team Europe go ! Given that localized versions of 4e are something of a craptastic failure, this might be the big break for Paizo in the Old World. Now, somebody to translate and publish PFRPG in Polish... :)

I just got this email from our French translator:
"I forgot to give you the release date for Pathfinder RPG in french : It will be friday the 18th of september, at the "Monde du Jeu" (www.mondedujeu.fr)"

Just in defense of the german translator, I have to say that I've heard from quite some people who consider the german localization to be even better than the english original because the translator denied to transfer some of the stylistic annoyances. So if Hasbro hadn't decided to sack the license, a german 4E would have probably been a major success.
But yeah, the lack of a localized 4E may be an advantage for Paizo. So here's hope for Paizo Con Berlin 2010 ^-^

That's a first. The best D&D translations I saw were bearable. Most were horrible.
I hope Ulisses does a better job with the translation than they do with the marketing.

Berlin's too far out of the way. Paizo Con Europe needs to be somewhere in the centre of things. I say something near the border to several big nations.
Saarbrücken might be the ideal place. It's in Germany, but France and Luxembourg are just around the corner!

Sweet! I've already ordered all my PFRPG stuff from Paizo but if they can take a hint I don't think I could resist an affordable PDF!

Yahoooo ! Jump overfilled by joy and hope ! YES YES YES ! At least we don't have to wait years and years before the translated version comes.... JOY JOY JOY !
That also means that I'll have to wait an additional month+ before getting my copy..... SAD SAD SAD.
Is it still going to be "black-book editions" for the translation ?

Yep. Black Book Editions has done a really nice job of translating our products and from what I hear, they are selling well in France!

My only gripe with the F&S translations was that they took so darned long. I never thought them to be bad quality and in my experience most of the people complaining about had stopped reading german D&D books when they were translated by AMIGO (and yes those were quite horrible sometimes).
No, as far as Ulisses is concerned, I'm actually quite sure that they can do whatever they want, there'll still be complaining. But as far as the marketing is concerned (sigh), I'm on your side actually. As I've some insights into what happened with regard to the license/the translation, I know that there has been a lot of bad luck involved but nonetheless the marketing could have been handled better. To be frank, I think that my blog translations have had more effect so far. I hope, that this changes soon. 'Cause the blog entries are growing in length while my free time gets shorter and shorter.
Saarbrücken might be the ideal place. It's in Germany, but France and Luxembourg are just around the corner!
Not that I'd mind this splendid plan. When I called for a Berlin Con I just thought to do Gorbacz a favor :)

I'd go to Saarbrücken (from Texas) - that's close enough to Heidelberg (my hometown and where some of my family still is).

I have stopped using German D&D stuff long before that. I did hear about something negative about F&S stuff, but since it wasn't from anyone I know, and I cannot remember what it was, I'm giving them the benefit of the doubt.

And it's still not much better. What do they have? Okay, the first thing you see when you go to their page is the blurb about Pathfinder Rollenspiel.
But that's pretty much everything. They don't have a page about the game, the way they have for DSA and Anima BF and all that. Nothing.
It couldn't be too hard to chain some intern to a PC and force him to assemble some information about the game.
You have to go to the Forum to find anything else. And that when you'll finally find that intern.
And I don't mean you. It seems you're "tearing your a** open" for PFRS and Paizo should send you a free PFRS Grundregelwerk and/or PFRPG Corebook for that.
Not that I'd mind this splendid plan. When I called for a Berlin Con I just thought to do Gorbacz a favor :)
Yeah, that's what it is: Splendid! You hear that, Paizo? I can find the phone number for the Saarbrücker Messegelende for you if you need it :D

@Wormy - Hey, anywhere in Germany is fine, Wochenende-ticket ftw ! :)
@Lisa - That's what my French friends say too !
To be honest, there is not much of a good native RPG product around here.
However, who's to complain ? Some of my players are not very good at English, now hopefully they will understand what they are doing :)

Man, you're an optimist.
I'd say my players all understand English well enough, but still some of them don't understand what they're doing.
It's astonishing how often you can explain how anything more than 5 feet of movement precludes multiple attacks of any, any source.

Scary !
If it were not for your profile, I'd swear you're in my table.

Is it still going to be "black-book editions" for the translation ?
By the way, for all news about the French version of Pathfinder, you can visit Black Book Editions' site at http://www.black-book-editions.fr/index.php or the Pathfinder fan section of AideDD.org!
Bon jeu !
