Sounds good, PH.
I actually printed out all your char's yesterday so I could go over them in detail rather then just giving them a skim, then I got stuck putting in a 14 hour shift. I wanted to get up those first posts, and that took the rest of my night. I'll note any other issues I see soon, but I'm glad you caught that yourself.

Sounds good, Seeker. I look forward to reading it.
And SkullCrusher. I see that you got a chunk of your background up on your alias. You look like you are a little more experienced too, but thats ok as it fits somewhat in with the way Roach approached you. Looks like it cuts off at the end there, I'm not sure if you are adding more to it, or if there was an editing error where it took out a few lines.

Yes. Most people use Invisible Castle, but if you find any other that records your rolls you could use them. Just be sure to link to the rolls.

![]() |

Yes, invisiblecastle is my first choice, though there is a good die roller on [url=http://dmtools.org/]DM Tools as well.
If you want to make things easier on yourself with invisible castle, they actually have a neat function that lets you keep track of hits as well.
You just add hits(hitmin) to the end of the number of dice you are rolling. Since in shadowrun you are shooting for a 5, you would have it be hits(5). I know that doesn't quite make sense, so I'll give an example below.
If your dicepool was 8 dice, you could put this into the roller:
8d6.hits(5)
And your output would look something like this:
[5,5,6,2,6,3,5,1] = (5)
It shows you what you rolled and gives you a total number of successes.
When you post your results, if you could give me the results of each die as well as the total hits, as above, I would appreciate it just for simplicities sake. This way if there is an unknown penalty on your roll, I can just knock off an equal number of dice starting from the right and still know how many successes you have.
It will be rare that you won't know such things, but you never know if someone might have messed with your sights and now you don't know why you are having such a hard time bullseyeing things, or that you have 'Daisy Eaters' tacked on the back of your jacket and no matter how smooth you think you are talking The Ancients seem to still be glaring at you.

Just wanted to make two notes here. The first one is that you guys don't need to be afraid to make full use of your characters knowledges with me. I think that information is very important in this world, and I don't mind you guys making sure you know whatever you can before moving forward. I'll try and give a pretty detailed description of things based on the threshhold you hit, whether that is digging on my knowledge of canon or if I need to make up additional details.
Second thing is that since we are going to be moving to the meet as soon as Neon posts, I just wanted to know if there are any assumptions I should make about your characters. Things that I should accept as being active unless you say otherwise. This could be things like always splitting your counterspell dice among the party when you are together, or keeping your commlink in hidden mode, ect.

Winston |
Normally Winston carries only his manhunter with a loaded clip of regular rounds and a single spare clip. This is concealed beneath his lined coat. He also has his Commlink on him at all times and his autopicker for key locks. His other gear pretty much stays at home. He pays protection money to the local street gang to make see that his apartment and bike are left alone and though the neighborhood is s@%* his door is strong and locked with both a good key lock and a passcode mag lock. He's forced to leave his bike in the alley nearby, which he covers with a canvas tarp. He has the bike synced with his commlink, so that if it is ever started a message is automatically sent to his commlink and he can monitor its location via GPS (unless someone is smart enough to hack the bike's computer system and reset those parameters). On more than one occasion someone has tried to steal it, and he's had to fire on the thief out the window or track the bike down via GPS and deal with the crook. It really pisses him off when people f$!~ with his wheels.

Sounds great, Winston, that gives me a very good overview of what to expect of your character at any time if something random should come up.
On a side note, I haven't heard from Neon since tuesday. Do you guys want to push forward with the meet and we can start to advance the story. If he is still in and things have just gotten busy, then he can just show up late to the meet. Otherwise, I can adjust this first run so you guys don't really need a decker and hopefully we'll get some interest before we get too far along. Thoughts?

![]() |

I'm cool with whatever you decide.
As to Rick, he tends not to be trigger happy, he relies on his wired reflexes to help him react to a situation if it gets ugly. Always packs his pistol, comm link set on hidden at all times. He tends to let others take the lead unless something comes up that he's comfortable dealing with from a position of authority.

P.H. Dungeon |

I forgot to mention that his fake SIN and pistol license are on his Commlink, and he also carries his gas mask everywhere. He uses it when the smog is bad, but he can also use it conceal his face. In addition he wears a large Fedora, and frequently changes the skin on his cyber eyes.

SKULLCRUSHA |

skullcrusha always carries his remington roomsweeper dangling from his right hip, both barrels loaded with flechette rounds. he also carries 4 rounds of regular ammo for the roomsweeper for when the poo hits the revolving bladed machine.
his ruger superwarhawk is loaded with regular ammo, and thrust down his right boot. he carries 3 speed clips for the ruger in his cargo pockets.
his survival knife is looped through his belt.
he wears his commlink all the time, set to hidden.
since Skullcrusha lives the midlifestyle, he has a garage to put his bike and toys in.
SC is more laid back to everything. he is no stranger to how the shadows work, just hasnt been in the practice for almost a decade, so alot has changed. if a young pup has a good idea, hell fall in behind him/her and execute with vigor. if not, hell step up and show the youngens how an old timer did things back when they were hanging off their mommas bosom...
im cool with pushing the story forward...would to get into the thick of it...

DEWN MOU'TAIN |

tarlane,
shouldnt take me too long, already figured out what items i want to buy and stuff (hehehe, things that make alot of noise and fairly easily relocate building materials over a country mile)

SKULLCRUSHA |

just a heads up. going to be out of the loop this weekend, from friday night til sunday night. doing a lil family vacation. not sure on the possibilities are of me hoping on here to track the storyline.
in my last post before i leave, ill list out the things that i do in certain situations.

![]() |

I always appreciate the heads up. Things are moving steadily, but not at a blistering pace, so if you are able to get on regularly, I don't see it as being any sort of issue. If things pick up, or something needs your characters attention and you aren't about for a bit, I can always put up an NPC post for you as well. Otherwise its not too big of a deal if your character is just somewhat more quiet over that week, since we know you won't be as active.

![]() |

I hadn't planned on it, but is that something you guys would be interested in? I'm more then willing to put in the effort for that sort of thing if it makes the game better for the group.
Speaking of things like this, would you guys be interested in something akin to an IC wiki that we could use as a whole? It would take a few days to have it functional, but I could set up a site where you could each maintain character journals and be able to comment between them. If I set it up as a wiki it would also allow things like you to put up picks of your character, bits of bio, maybe the fake profiles that you broadcast on your comms, and could serve as an NPC and run database as well. A good place that you could note any details about the NPCs you meet, whether you trust them or not, if they are good for money or gear, ect as well as keeping track of your objectives.
I'm actually kind of digging this ideas as I write it, since it could be like your own personal shadowsea, something where I could add comments from other runners SR sourcebook style.
I'm totally willing to do the setup and bulk of the writeups, but obviously this only works if you guys are willing to jot in your own notes and maybe keep some character info up there. Is that interesting to anyone?

Alright guys, I think I have something essentially barebones up right now, but I'm trying to decide on just the best way to go about access.
My feeling would be to have it invite only, that way I wouldn't have to worry about anyone outside the group messing with pages(either vandalizing or even adding info to, no fun having a shadowrun know-it-all drop in some information about a location that your team might not be aware of after all). That would also give me the freedom to do things like quote text directly from source books and include images and the like from all sources. I've found game companies are pretty loose about letting players share stuff within their group but are much less so if its just put out there where anyone can access it.
However, that would mean that you would each need to shoot me an email address that you could get an invitation at, and would need to register on the hosting site(its a pretty non-intrusive form). I'm not sure how comfortable with that everyone is, but hopefully its not a very big deal.
I figure that if we are enjoying the wiki I will end up moving it onto a site that I host myself so I have a lot more control over the layout and the like. I was planning on waiting to do that until I've seen whether we really all hop on board with this thing, because it does involve quite a bit more time and a minor expense, but if there are any concerns about needing to register, I could get that started more swiftly.
Finally, as I said, things are pretty barebones at the moment. I'm still trying to decide on a template as I was copying over your characters, and I only have more then a blank page for a few of the contacts that have already been fleshed out. For locations, right now they are all just in one area but I figure once we start having more I will sort them by district.
I'm more then happy to hear any comments you might have, let me know what you like and don't like, what you think I need to add and go ahead and make any changes that you feel comfortable with(whether that is fleshing out one of your own contacts more, adding an IC note about something or someone, putting up a new page you feel is missing, ect). Each page has a thread associated with it, so we can bounce back any page specific creativity there too, and don't be afraid to make use of the 'to do list' if you think a page needs something, but you don't know how to do it.
Over the next few days, hopefully the site will start to look more full fledged, especially if you guys make use of it too. If you want to hop on and take a look at it, and don't mind sending me an email, shoot me a message to felixcosima at gmail dot com
Thanks,
-Tarlane

I've only got the two emails so far, but I'm curious, did you two have a chance to check it out? Any thoughts or suggestions? Most of the things up there still are in placeholder status and I'm trying to let you flesh out your own contacts as much as possible. Just let me know if you need me to detail anything out for you, or if you think something is missing(I suspect a lot of things are, I'm just adding more as I think of what would be helpful).

![]() |

Yeah, I tried to get up the basic details I already had for your characters, and you had the most fluff for your contacts already.
Don't be afraid to add anything you think sounds good though, or toss in your comments, whether something along the lines of 'I don't trust this johnson' to what you think about the upcoming run and such.
Right now we are at the beginning of the game enough that there isn't a whole lot built on about what your characters know, but this seems like a good way to really flesh that out.
Edit: Also, if any of you aren't sure how to make a change of any sort in there, feel free to ask me either here or by email. I don't mind making any suggested changes myself, but I think the more of us who get our hands in this the better it will turn out.
Its been kind of a chaotic few days for me at work so I haven't gotten as much done on it as I wanted to yet, but I'll try and get some more info up tonight.

![]() |

I tried getting on last night, but I'm currently piggy backing on my neighbor's wifi, so my connection is slow and spotty right now. I'll try again right now. I was half way through registering when the connection signal got too weak...
I get my cable hooked up Saturday, so I'll have a very stable connection then, and will be able to do internet things easier.

![]() |

Sorry, my last few weeks have been rough so I haven't been able to be adding to it like I had planned on.
I'll try and get some more details up there, but this really is one of those things where I'll need all of you to be helping add to it if its going to work. Feel free to just toss in any notes or details that you think would be important or are just in character, it will make it a lot better for everyone.
