Savage Tide Dwarf

Taking a look at the Savage Tide Iconics while browsing through Dungeon today, and I noticed that the Dwarf Barbarian iconic seems to wield a greataxe, yet carries a large shield as well.

Just randomly thinking. Does he have a special feat like Monkey Grip (CA)? Or does he carry the shield and uses it separately with a lighter weapon like the short sword at his side.

If it's in a picture, I'd say artistic license.

If it's in a stat block there is no reason he can't own and carry both, it's just the wielding of them together that gets wonky.

Or it could simply be a dwarven waraxe, which only dwarves can use one-handed. *grin*
