Sorry spent most of the day dead in bed. Um, question. Is Aden at V17 and is the beast marked by my Segis after last round?
Sorry, yes. I must have just read 'fumble' and move on. I plead spaciness. Did anything happen when it attacked Hoku, other than the -2?
Hoku's up
Hoku Te Ulani
Hoku nimbly weaves her way around the lizard, so she is flanking it with Aden, and slashes at the behemoth.
Tumble to T20. AP. Shift to S20. Sly Flourish vs AC (1d20+15=27, 1d4+10=13, 2d8=4) inc CA, Sneak
Elohir Miriel
Hoku nimbly weaves her way around the lizard, so she is flanking it with Aden, and slashes at the behemoth.
Tumble to T20. AP. Shift to S20. Sly Flourish vs AC (1d20+15=27, 1d4+10=13, 2d8=4) inc CA, Sneak
Hoku, since you're small you don't really need to waste your AP on that shift. You can move right under the lizard's feet to the spot you want. By the rules you can move through the spaces of creatures 2 sizes or more larger than you, and since you tumbled you won't provoke any attacks to do so! :D

Cool! Change Hoku's action to the same thing without the AP/shift, please.
Elohir Miriel
Elohir, seeing himself dangerously close to the lizard and realizing it looks much bigger from this distance, wisely chooses to make a tactical retreat to better vantages. Before he makes his move, however, he places a curse upon a7 just in case.
From there he raises his hand in an attempt to summon purple, eldritch flames and blast the lizard with them in a concussive blast. The spell seems promising, but turns out thinner than Elohir had hoped.
"Try to keep clear of the ants!"
Free Action: Use quickcurse rod to curse a7.
Move Action: Move to W22, gaining concealment from Shadow Walk.
Standard Action: Eldritch Blast vs. X; 24 vs. REFLEX for 9 damage.
Irawaru
Move to W16. Charge to V18.
Basic Attack 1d20+11=22, 1d12+6=9
Irwaru snarls as his enemy eludes him, and rejoins his companions. He grins as she spies the reptile once more and charges forward to meet it.

Irawaru's charging blow is again deflected by the lizard, but Elohir's eldritch blast strikes home.
The giant reptile snaps at Aden, but the swordmage dodges easily. One of the ants (the cursed one) is less fortunate, though, and is smashed by the lashing tail.
The seemingly endless stream of remaining ants begins to approach the battle, drawn by the chemical spoor of the crushed one. None of them do any damage at this time.

Divine Glow (close blast 3 v Ref) on dino (1d20+7=13)
Hasnett tries to invoke the power of her goddess once more, but Melora seems to have her mind on other matters.
Elohir Miriel
Elohir's eyes shine with radiant light for a split second at the ant's demise and his characteristicly odd grin shows upon his face.
"I've seen it now...," he says, and chuckles to himself as he prepares his next spell. More purple and black eldritch flames dance between his fingertips.
"Death God" Aden
YAY boards are back!
Aden cluthches his blade firmly and swings again
Booming Blade 1d20+11=19, doubtful that hit; Damage 1d8+6=14, and if it's adjacent to me at the start of its turn and moves away, it takes 1d6+1=7 necrotic and thunder damage.
Irawaru
I'm such an idiot not having the attacks in the profile. Shift to U19. Bloodhunt Rage - 14 vs AC. Miss for half damage - damage - 1+12+6 (reroll the 1 because of Brutal 2 gives us 9) - total damage (after reroll) = 33. Half damage = 16. Until the end of the encounter I gain a bonus of 2 to damage rolls if either I or the target is bloodied.
Irawaru's eyes start to roll and he sticks his tongue out, uttering a cry most horrible.
Leaping forward, his axe a polished edge of death, he slashes at the beast, all the while jabbering wildly.
Elohir Miriel
Elohir only moves a short distance this time in order to avoid the cover of the trees blocking his line to the beast.
With a guttural incantation, Elohir unleashes the blast of eldritch flame from his right hand. Unfortunately, the thrashing of the beast throws him off and he still only manages to seer the tree. Apparently the future he glimpsed was never meant to be.
Move Action: Shift to W21
Standard Action: Eldritch Blast vs. X; Natural 1 for maximum damage!!!
I've only ever been able to use my curse twice in this campaign and it's failed each time. :D

The beast, frustrated by its failures to get a meal, bites at Hoku and grabs her up, even as its tail somehow misses the ants. -12hp to Hoku, reduced to 6 by Aegis. Then, seeming to take what it can, it attempts to drag her away from the others, but fails. It grinds the luckless halfling in its terrible jaws. Action point, -21hp to Hoku, total -27hp.
The ants, meanwhile, swarm the reptile, but it ignores them.

Hasnett calls on her goddess once more, invoking Melora's mercy to help the stricken halfling.
Minor, healing word on Hoku. Surge + Healing for Hoku (2d6+3=10)
Then she raises her morningstar high and slams it hard into the creature. "Ant fodder." she says disdainfully, as the blow hits home, sweeping the creature's legs from under it.
Move to V20
Righteous Smite v monster (1d20+11=31, 1d10+5=15). CRIT! Rolled max damage as well. Used Divine Fortune to get the +1 to attack. Anyway. Total damage should include 6 for Hunter's Quarry, which I forgot to roll and and additional 8 from the Staggering morningstar.
Crit damage from staggering morningstar (2d6=8) Total damage to beastie 29hp. On crit, it knocks the target prone. Aden gets a +3 bonus to his next attack roll.

The beast, clearly on the losing end of this fight, crashes to the ground, still with the halfling in its jaws.
As far as I can tell, being knocked prone is not one of the things that makes you lose a grab.

Move to T22; Flame Cyclone on the reptile, a1, a2 and a3 1d20+12=29, 20, 32 (Crit), and 19 vs Reflex; Damage 1d8+9=11 fire (17 for the crit); Bonus damage for crit 2d12=10. Total from Crit 27
Hoku Te Ulani
Hoku attempts to wriggle free and stab the beast again.
Acrobatics vs Ref (1d20+14=15) still stuck, Sly Flourish vs AC (1d20+13=14, 1d4+10=12) wow, IC is not my friend today. If monster hits again, please use Second Chance.
Elohir Miriel
Elohir circles around once more and utters another guttural curse on a nearby ant. He hopes for more luck this time and casts his eldritch spell again, purple and black energy surging through a ray of darkness aimed at the large lizard. Unfortunately, his attack is just as useless as the last, soaring over the lizard's head.
Move Action: Move to W17, gaining concealment from Shadow Walk.

The reptile rises once more, still surrounded by enemies, both humanoid and insect. Ignoring Irawaru's and Elohir's attacks, it tries to drag Hoku away, but fails. AP It then chews at her again, but the luck of her race keeps her from being further damaged. Meanwhile, it lashes with its tail, smashing another ant.
The ants are another matter. One of the workers already there manages to bite the beast, penetrating its thick hide. As some of the other ants enter the light, you realize they are not the same, but rather much larger. These giant ants have a dull black carapace, an oversized set of mandibles, and wicked stingers at the base of their abdomens.

Elohir should be at W17, so I'm making my movement from there. I also see that a8 is gone so I assume my curse went into effect.
Elohir slinks around the trees again to change his vantage point.
"Vulgtlagln Caiphon!" shouts Elohir as he places a curse upon another ant. He then lets loose with his black ray of energy.

After taking another wound from Irawaru and dodging another eldritch blast from Elohir, the great reptile has had enough and dashes through the trees at remarkable speed, avoiding Aden's parting shot.
The ants, deprived of their target, begin to swarm on the party. One of the smaller ants manages to bite Elohir, and then the soldier ants arrive, one stinging Elohir and one Irawaru. Both are able to shake off the poison, however. Most of the workers, however, resume their efforts on the carcass.

Grr, IC is acting up.
Aden flings his sword into the swarming ants. As he does it erupts into a blazing inferno
Incendiart Sword, placing it at s18, on A19, A9, A20 and A21 1d20+9=28, 27, 13 and 19 vs Will; Damage 2d6+6=15 fire damage, and the ants take 7 fire damage if they make attacks that don't include me on their next turn.
Aden smiles and fade into the shadows reappearing behind Hasnett and Irawaru.

Hoku Te Ulani
Hoku finds nowhere to maneuver to for a tactical advantage, so she slashes at the ant in front of her.

Elohir Miriel
With a wave of his hand Elohir curses A22 before he turns insubstantial for a moment and drifts rapidly away from the ants in front of him. As he materializes 15 feet away he continues to shift sporadically, making it more difficult to hit him.
With a wry smirk he unloads a bolt of black eldritch energy into A19, his aim aided by the glimpse into the future he gained at the death of his previously cursed enemies. (+4 to hit this round)
