Especially since Miko was created as a commentary on the stereotypically poor way of playing paladins. Not that O-Chul isn't awesome, but it's not that hard to do better than Miko. Just don't be psychotic.

Again, not that O-Chul isn't awesome (I can't stress this point enough), but up against such an embodiment of (perhaps equally awesome) evil as Xykon, doing the right thing is relatively easy.
But, yes, I too have a desire to play a paladin soon!
Got to say I'm getting to use the design focus paladin currently and it's enough to get me to regularly give up playing casters (I enjoy casters... the choices the decisions, the worry of uncertainty...). Got one player using the design focus paladin too (with all 3.5 books that I own available for player use too) and asked if he was going to multiclass or go into a prestige class he said, "Are you crazy? Paladins rock now! I'm not losing a single level."
