Gilliam raises his holy symbol once more, sending more divine doom towards the writhing marilith. To his annoyance, the now un-blinded demon just ducks aside.

Two scimitars strike wildly at Genryu. Both miss, but the remaining four arms rise in a defensive shield around the demon.

It finds Lavender's savage attack impossible to throw off. Yes, fails the save as well. It can, however, move freely once more.

Shroud of Steel (two scimitar attacks and marilith gains +4AC to end next turn) v Genryu (1d20+29=34, 2d10+9=22, 1d20+29=32, 2d10+9=26). Yay. Rolling a 3 and a 5 is not going to hit anything.

Amended the disintegrate damage to add the extra 8. Lucky old marilith. It's really not having the best day.

Theren steps up to the maralith and strikes the maralith, his body glowing with holy light.

Moving to M9 using Light of The Avenging Sun (-4 to attacks against me), assuming it moved away willingly: CRITICAL HIT, 42 Radiant damage and 20 Ongoing damage. (31 if Censure not activated)


Theren - the marilith didn't move at all as Lam didn't hit it. 31 damage, and I don't think it takes the ongoing, but correct me if I'm wrong.

Theren proves that the Flameskull had the right idea in trying to keep him dazed as his vengeful powers add insulting, blazing injury to the marilith.

Irritably, Alasandro at last remembers a spell likely to hurt their foes and gestures at the Glabrezu.

"Time to see the dark side ..." he mutters, pulling piece of chilling dark from somewhere inexplicable and nodding with satisfaction as it wraps itself around the Glabrezu, slowing and restricting its movements.

Dark Side of the Moon (Will) v Glabrezu (1d20+25=39, 4d10+10=36, 5d8=26, +8=). And that hits! He used his gloves of eldritch admixture to add in another 2d8 worth of damage, bringing the total to 70hp.

Glabrezu is slowed and restricted to making basic attacks only to the end of Alasandro's next turn.


The glabrezu flails as the holding dark wraps itself around it, pincer waving wildly as it snaps at Lam. For once, the claw snaps around its target, but the demon is too bewildered to do much damage.

Pincer claw v Lam (AC) (1d20+26=45, 2d8+8=16). 8hp damage to Lam - even before the weakening halved it, that was pretty rubbish ...

Since the marilith is currently taking 30 ongoing damage a turn, pretty much all you need to do is sit back and let it die. It won't take long at this rate. Stupid demon, chunter, grumble, can't roll to save its own feeble hide ... Yes - I knew about jagged at some level as my son plays a rogue with a jagged weapon and has a nasty knack of rolling crits with it. I'd obviously blanked it out in some Freudian attempt to dull the pain :D

Nice! The disintegrate ongoing is untyped, so I think the marilith is now taking 20 ongoing (se), after which it will (if it should be so lucky) taking 5 ongoing (se).


Better and better... is that 20 from Lav as well as the 20 from Theren then? Just to be sure before I repost the init order?

No, 20 total. The two ongoings don't stack, so the 20 from Theren overrides Lav's 10.

Gilliam's sends Pelor's power directly to the marilith's heart. rolled 17+23 v Ref, 3d8+12+8 = 31 hp damage.

Unable to defend itself from the combined assaults of the comrades, the marilith's continuing wounds fell the demon and it collapses into a writhing heap.

The Flameskull panicks and sends further bolts of fiery might at Theren, hoping to daze the avenger.

Enfeebling Strike: 13+29= 42 vs AC. on a hit takes -2 atk until the end of my next turn. Of course this attack targets my buddy glab. The damage on a hit is 29+8: 37 damage

By the way Rev, I found a cool little utility online for keeping track of hp's, init and status. Link It's pretty neat, still in beta so unfortunately you can't save the hp totals right now between closing and opening but you can save characters and encounters to use as you go

Lam's next blow is enough to bloody the enormous Glabrezu. With the fall of the marilith, the flameskull for the first time looks a little less confident.

Quiet purpose in his every move, Gilliam raises his holy symbol and calls upon the light of Pelor to scour the demonic scum from the good earth. At his words, flames spring from the very ground, forming a ring of flame through which only the righteous may pass.

Fire Storm (Ref) v Glab and Flameskull (1d20+23=30, 1d20+23=41). Hits the flameskull, misses Glabrezu, but does half damage anyway.

Fire Storm damage (5d10+12=48). 28hp damage to Flameskull (it has resist fire 20), 24 to Glabrezu. Also creates a fiery zone. Enemies starting their turn in the zone take 1d10+7 fire damage and zone may be sustained as a minor action. Manually amended twice as I forgot the +8 damage and also put the wrong damage bonus in in the first place. Go me.

The flameskull attempts to retaliate, but its efforts are now looking like poor stuff as the protecting demons start to weaken.
Damage from Firestorm (1d10+7=13). No effect due to resistance.

Burning with the glory of Pelor's wrath, it hurls more another flame ray at the party, this time targeting Lam, desperate to slow him down. The ray is strong enough to allow some heat to bypass Lavender's sheild and the paladin is dazed.
Flame Ray at Lam (1d20+28=39, 2d8+10=20). 2hp damage to Lam and he is dazed to the end of Flameskull's next turn.

Alasandro's run of ineptitude continues as he fails to hit the Glabrezu. Another 1. Sigh.


Pelor's flames eat further into the Glabrezu's defenses as the demon tries to capture Lam in its pincers. Against all the odds, and driven by desperation, it succeeds and roars triumphantly as it holds the hapless paladin in its fearsome grip.
