WotC presence?

Will they be there or is this a snub kind of thing?

This is PaizoCon, not GenCon. Which is to say that the only official presence there will be Paizo.

That said, there isn't anything stopping WotC folks from buying passes like anyone else.

shhhh! we don't want them crashing the party! :tinfoil:

I'd say since there are many people who work for Paizo who still have friends from WotC, Don't be surprised if someone shows up just to look around or to play a game or two. Obviously it won't be official but you never know. Good relations are good for the business.

Sovereign Court Wayfinder, PaizoCon Founder

Last year, we had two or three WotC folk join the mix. All of them are good friends with Paizo staff, so while it was a surprise, it was a pleasant surprise, and one I'm hoping to see again this year....cuz they're cool people all around.

I know, I was just joking. Inter-business relationships are a good thing.

Paizo Employee Creative Director

Last year at Paizocon I, we had two or three WotC folk there in the audience; I suspect there'll be some this year as well. There'll CERTAINLY be lots of freelancers who work for WotC and Paizo and others in attendance.

But WotC is unlikely to have any sort of official presence at Paizocon.

Are vendors solicited for PaizoCon by Paizo? In other words, are invitations sent out? There must be limited vendor space, so I suppose one would have to register with you guys? Or is that a GenCon thing?

This is a 250-person convention for Paizo. We'll have a small table to sell Paizo products and products of our third party publishers and some paizo.com consignment customers. We won't have a dealer hall and we're not soliciting other manufacturers to attend. This is Paizo's opportunity to rub elbows with the hardest of the hardcore fans. :-)

F**K Yah! I am all for being hardcore with you guys.

Uhhh.. could we get further clarification on what sort of fan/pro interactions are planned for the convention...

If, while we're getting our badges, they ask us to fill out release forms, then you might have a clue. Also, keep an eye out for camera crews and mirrors on the ceilings.

Hmm, I think Gary Teter posted the other day about not being able to find enough duct tape for the convention. I'm not sure what that meant.
