3.5 ruleset or Pathfinder for Society character creation?

Pathfinder Society

Scarab Sages

I'm just putting together a Society game and one of my players has informed me he's under the impression we use the ruleset from 3.5 for character creation. These rules are rather different than those of pathfinder's and I was under the impression we were to use those rules.

So in a nutshell, do we use 3.5 or pathfinder rules for Society play?

3.5 rules, at least until August. It should all be spelled out clearly in the guide to Pathfinder Society play.

...there are several references to the PH throughout the guide, but they never make it all that clear. It's rather upsetting that they'd have a ruleset they've taken all this time to develop but not have people testing it out in league play. Not to mention, I much prefer pathfinder rules. Sigh...

The first paragraph of the guide book states this is 3.5 OGL. In August, we'll switch to the Pathfinder Roleplaying Game.

The purpose of the Season 0 was to test out the organized play system, not the rules set. It would overly complicate both playtests if feedback for one were to mix with the other. We are all eager to get down and dirty with official, final PRPG rules, but since those don't exist til August, everyone's in the same boat. But however far your 3.5 characters get in PFS is where they'll start once they convert to PRPG, so don't wait to start playing!
