Female Half Elf Rogue 1 (Favored class rogue)

Perception: 1d20+7=25

She tilts her head to the side as she listens, frowning a bit. "Things seem a bit odd around here."

Hope you slept well. :)

was pretty good...had a day of doing nothing. :)

Female Human Cleric 1

Perception (1d20+3=18)

Cefrey looks over the approaching village with a visible look of concern. "So many? So quickly?" She questions, mostly speaking to herself as she tightly clutches the silver bird of Shelyn that hangs from a chain around her neck.

Standing on the ferry landing, with a small gang of men around him, Payden Teedum shouts over the water. “Youse best be hurryin’ up The Perch. Da boss, he’s been waitin’ too long fer ya’all to return.” He pulls out a handkerchief and blows his pug-faced, broken nose into it. A thick gob of mucus still hangs from his nose as he turns and heads back into the village.

Spoiler:
The stranger on the ferry stiffens, his hand going to the sword strapped to his leg. He doesn't pull it out, but his eyes are fixed on Payden, watching the man as he heads up into Falcon's Hollow.

================================================================

Gambril Only!

Spoiler:

Once the men leave, you see your mother slouched against a crate, her tattered rags wrapped around her face. Clutching an idol of Sarenrae in her hands, she appears to be sleeping, her dreams wracked by some unknown terror as she spasms in her sleep. The ferry is about 100 feet from the slip.

Female Half Elf Rogue 1 (Favored class rogue)

Saffron looks back at the stranger, narrowing her eyes, "You better watch yourself sir."

Perception: 1d20+7=16

The stranger turns to the half elf, a small smile on his lips. "No, it is Kreed and his cronies who should be careful."

Turning back to the small village, he stares silently, and seems to be unaffected by the rocking of the ferry as he stands as stiff as a statue.

Gambril rushes to his mother

"Mother, mother, are you ok?" "Mother"

tears begin to form

"Help me get her to our house...I'll see Payday after I get her home."

The ferry approaches the slip, and Gambril runs over to his mother, falling to his knees before her. Dried blood from her nose and mouth run down her cheek, mixed with drying tears.
Clutching her idol, she tries to sit up, and is only able to do so with the help of Gambril. Her body is wracked by coughing, and she pleads for a glass of water.
With the sun shining down on her, you can see that her eyes have sunken slightly, and her skin is pale. Normally silky hair that hangs at her shoulders has become stringy, and dulled, matted together from dirt and filth.

Female Human Cleric 1

At seeing Gambril rush over to his mother Cefrey breaks into her run as well arriving at his side not long after him and helping him support the older woman. "Don't worry" She assures them both kindly "I'll do everything in my power to help"

Anyone tending to Gambril's ma can make a DC 14 Heal check to find out what's wrong with her.

Heal Check [DC 14] Results

Spoiler:
Gambril's ma appears to be infected with Blackscour Taint, which comes from infected water sources. Since it has never been found in Falcon's Hollow, there is little knowledge about it.

Gambril grabs his water skin and gives his mother some water. "'Tis Sunstroke for sure...but that doesn't explain the blood..."

Heal: 1d20+0=13

She greedily drinks the water, draining the water skin, and starts coughing, bringing it all back up. "Gods alive, won't this coughing stop?" She realizes that Gambril had given her the water, and she touches his face. "You...you came back."

Smiling weakly at her son, she strokes his hair. She seems like she's about to say something when her eyes flutter, and she passes out, her body still spasming in her sleep. Moaning a couple of times, she goes silent, resting in her sons arms.

She didn't die, in case you were worried. :) Totally forget your parents names...and couldn't find the post where you mentioned them.

The paladin leans down over the ill woman. "This is a foul illness the likes of which the Korgun has never seen before. The Korgun hopes that his skills can comfort her."

Heal Check (1d20 +2=7) to diagnois

Heal Check for treatment (1d20+2=15)

Korgun

Spoiler:
Not sure why you made two checks, but I'll take the 15. You recognize the Blackscour Taint in name only. You've never seen a victim of it.

Mother's name Amira, Fathers name Sydow, (like Max Von Sydow) heh. Heh, if his mother dies, he might have to leave the adventure...heh...she's what's holding him to the Hollow.

I'll be sure not to include her in the death-toll then :)

Not sure how to handle the situation with Gambril and his mother, Saffron decides to keep a close eye on the stranger to see what he does as soon as they land.

I rolled one for the check to see if I knew what it was and failed so I posted he had "never seen before". Then I rolled for trying to use my skill in a way that could treat her symptoms and give her comfort

The stranger walks up into the village. Once he gets up to the market square, he looks around, as if getting his bearings, and heads north.

Korgun

Spoiler:
No knowledge of how to treat her.

I get that, I didn't even roll high enough to know what it is much less treat the condition. I am not trying to heal the disease, only treat her symptoms and try to ease her pain, discomfort, bleeding, ect..

Female Half Elf Rogue 1 (Favored class rogue)

She decides to follow him for a bit, keeping sure to stay quiet and a ways behind him so he does not notice.

Stealth: 1d20+7=25

Korgun

Spoiler:
Cool water, shade, zero activity. If it is in fact sunstroke. Doesn't explain the blood though.

Saffron

Spoiler:
The stranger heads further up into town. Every few houses he stops, getting his bearings once again. A few times he stops a villager, and they shake their heads at his questions.

He appears to be getting agitated, and eventually goes inside Jak'a'Napes, the most famous inn in Falcon's Hollow.

As you move through the village, you notice a fair amount of people coughing, laying against buildings, and generally being sick.

100 xp per character for convincing Derwin to take you across on the ferry.

Thomas Thiessen wrote:

The ferry splashes across the River Foam, the village of Falcon’s Hollow coming closer, the end of your journey at an end. The crumbling black dome of the local Lumber Consortium headquarters absorbs the light of the afternoon sun, the tallest building sitting atop The Perch, on the east side of the village.

Only once right? You said the 100xp twice..heh

*rolling around laughing* Oi! So many games I'm involved with...yea, you should only get it once, so 200xp per character so far.

Female Half Elf Rogue 1 (Favored class rogue)

Saffron will follow the stranger inside the inn.

Saffron

Spoiler:
Walking into Jak'a'Napes, you see that the inn is a lot more crowded than usual. The stranger forgoes ordering a drink, and starts asking patrons about someone named Rhoddam.
People generally ignore him, and the armored stranger finally finds a seat, and orders a drink.

Female Half Elf Rogue 1 (Favored class rogue)

Thomas

Spoiler:
Saffron will sit at a table close to where he is sitting, and order a drink herself. She will spend some time there to scope him out.

Saffron

Spoiler:
The man looks lost in his own thoughts, ignoring the drink at the table. A rowdy bunch of youngsters jostle his table. He starts to stand, the sword comes a couple of inches out of the scabbard. You see the blade is a deep metallic crimson, a sharp contrast to the poor condition of his armor.

He settles in his seat, looks around the room, swallows his drink in one gulp, and stands. With a half-hearted smile at you, he heads back outside.

Spoiler:
She offers him a wide smile as he leaves, raising a hand to wave goodbye, "Hope you find what you are looking for."

when is get's there, try to kick start the thread

Gambril gets his Amira to their house, he looks around for his drunkard of a father...

Gambril wrote:

Gambril's da is nowhere to be seen. Amira starts to come around, and she whispers "Sitting Duck" in your ear. (A local inn.)

Gambril leaves all of his water flasks for his mother. He'll also bring some food for her to eat in case she gets hungry and can eat.

"kay ma, I'll head over to th'Duck and also ask around abou' whats goin' on."

[i] with that he gives her a kiss and heads for the duck

naw, if she dies, then she dies, Gambril would just have to deal with it...maybe he'd latch on to other people in the town to protect...like some orphans... ;)

Anyone still interested in this game? In the last week, only 2 players have posted. We can revitalize it, or just let it whimper and die out. I'm all for continuing, but need more than 2 people interested.

I'm definitely in, this always happens when groups splinter into mini groups...it gets all convoluted.

Gambril leaves his mother and heads to the Sitting Duck.

Female Half Elf Rogue 1 (Favored class rogue)

I am still interested.

Since we're in town, we could always add alternates here...if the other two don't chime in

If I don't hear anything by Saturday, I'll look for a couple more.

I keep watching but I haven't seen an new opportunity to post since my last.

That's when you just post a placeholder message one that shows you're there... =D

Spoiler:
Kayos (Cefrey) hasn't posted in another game since the 9th also, hope she's OK.

DM please feel free to post for me over the next couple of days if needed. A close friend of the family passed away yesterday and I will be posting sparaticly I think.

Korgun, I'll place you with Gambril.

Saffron

Spoiler:
The stranger stops, turns, and gives you a slight bow. Turning to the door, he heads back into the village streets, heading east.

Gambril/Korgun

Spoiler:
Leaving Gambril's ma at the house, the pair rush over to the Sitting Duck. Passing through town, you notice a fair number of people bent over, coughing. At the Duck, there are tables set up outside, and an additional serving girl taking care of the customers outside. Leaning against the wall, with his chair on two legs, is Gambril's da, sitting with a couple of his lumberjack friends.

Spoiler:
What the hells is going on here?

Gambril

Spoiler:
"Eh! Gam! Sure took your time getting home, din'ja?" Da sits forward, cupping his mug in both hands. "I reckon Kreed will want to be havin' a chat with you. Best not to keep him waiting," he says, while laughing with his friends.

At the Sitting Duck

Spoiler:
Gambril is visibly showing his anger..."Kreed be damned! You didn't answer the question, what in the Great Beyond is happening in this town? I return and everyone is coughing, MOTHER is laying OUT in the SUN DYING and no one is helping her, not even you?. I REPEAT...WHAT is going on here? Just tossing back a few eh Da?"

Gambril wrote:

Gambril

Spoiler:
"Coughing...aye. 'Tis a sad state the people of this town er in. E'en your ma 'as caught a taste o' it." He finishes off his drink, and shouts for another one, turning his attention away from Gambril, and back to his friends.
