I'll be heading up to Gen Con for the first time this summer, and I have a few questions for some of you who've made the trip before.
For the most part, I'm curious about what the con is like outside the events list. Do many people run "pickup" RPG games? How difficult is it to find them? How about board gaming? Are any Paizonians planning on running anything on or off of the events list?
Basically, how much should I fill up my schedule with tickets purchased in advance?
Hope to see some of you there!

Lots to do at Gen Con, Pulp! Workshops, seminars, music, board games, LARP, contests, movie screenings, and then there's the GREAT HALL of gaming goodness! You'll wander in there for countless hours drooling over all of the games and accessories you wish you could own. LOL!
There's always "pick up" games and usually there are flyers posted here and there about it; sometimes its even in the event catalog.
Speaking of, you have your badge? You can download the event catalog at the Gen Con home page under Events Information - it's an Excel file that lists everything going on this year.
And there are several Paizo ran events - mostly some of the later Pathfinder Society adventures from what I could tell. I also heard there was going to be a general Pathfinder meeting on Thursday morning and then those members would have an opportunity to go to the Great Hall and purchase the new Pathfinder RPG rules book! Anybody else hear that?
Anyway, hope to see you in Indy!
