Quick question, sorry if it seems silly but the more I look at prismatic spray the more I am unsure of myself... The violet ray "Sent to another plane (Will negates)". How do you determine what plane the victim goes to? Is it randomly determined or is it chosen by the caster? How have other people handled this?
Thanks in advance and I apologize if this is a stupid question... I'm really tired and I think I'm probably totally over-thinking this thing.
Cheers

Depends, really - although this is not really a stupid question IMO. It is not up to the caster as to where the victim goes, but the GM. Most often it is randomly determined - but, as the GM, you can "roll" and then assign the plane the bugger gets sent off to that suits your convenience.
If you're big on rolling bones in front of your players, it behooves to to pre-generate a weighted "planar destination" chart. The one that used to be most commonly used is the one associated with the amulet of the planes, although you're free and clear to handle it how ever you deem necessary!

Excellent, thanks for the options. I've never had the spell used on a player before, so I just wanted to be crystal clear before he got screwed over. It's funny, but in terms of the game its actually less debilitating if he had just gotten killed.
Definitely quite a bit worse. Happened to a mind flayer cohort of a PC in my epic game once.
