I could see a James Bond-esqe spy war going on between Molthune, Isger and Druma in the esastern Meandor Mountains.
Before beginning, I'd like to thank Zeugma for the idea.
I'd like to design a hypothetical campaign that I might someday run, if I can get a group together. Character's must end their backstory with being recruited by Molthune's spy network, either through the military or through other means. Characters are to find out information and report back to the military and handle it themselves if necessary.
Heavy doses of role playing as they must get information without others knowing that there's even an issue (aka dead bodies, etc) accented by some fearful combat (those that figure out they are spies and set a trap for them).
Campaign starts off simple enough: Minor monster (i.e. kobolds, goblins, etc) are stealing crops typically sold to the military. They appear more organized and better equipped than normal. Players investigate why and how.
Points I want to hit: Investigation leads them through Druma to find ??? and to Cheliax where they discover that a devils want to ??? (something directly to Molthune), but it is only part of a larger scheme by (thinking Mephistopheles, but maybe not) for some greater plan (thinking some contract about how he is to gain power over ??? when ??? happens, again not sure about this point).
Any thought on what the various ??? could be?
Note: I don't want Molthune or anyone with it to be a BBEG since, I feel that has been done to death.
