The touchpad on my laptop has decide that it doesn't want to be cooperative in more and will cut out and stop working at odd times. I am planning on buying a laptop mouse, but before I do I want to know if it will function if the touchpad isn't. The problem seems to be with the touchpad reading the input.

I've run two laptops with bad touchpads with a USB or wireless mouse with no problems.
