How long do downloads remain available?

Liberty's Edge

Specifically I am questioning the policy about Worldworks pdf. I have at various times bought pdfs of their both from their site and when they used to sell though rpgnow. In the case of the set I bought on their site recently it seems their policy is to have two downloads with only one year to do so. I have not noticed any such policy in place with pdfs that I have bought from Paizo. So, my question simply is are there limitations in general as to how long downloads will be available to me, and specifically as it applies to worldworks.

thank you for your time.

Dark Archive

I have never seen, or read of a limit on paizo pdfs....I still have dungeon downloads from around 2 yrs ago....

i have downloaded my books both from my job, my PC, my laptop and once froma friend's computer because I needed it to run an adventure...

what I have seen is thatthey have no expiration, so if I suffer a crash in my computer I can get them back at any time.

These are not released under a license other than that Paizo provided, so unless they revoke it, no one can make the pdfs come down. There was some confusion about d20 license pdfs, but even those are still available if you purchased them before they became unavailable. I wouldn't worry about it.

You may download electronic files you've purchased as many times as you like, whenever you like. The only reason they'd go away is if the publisher required us to make them unavailable; I don't think that's ever happened.

The Exchange

I think if you go out and distribute them you will get them taken away and perhaps even worse. They have a digital signature on them that tells everyone who they belong to.

If it falls into the concerned hands...

....but we won't go there.

It is true that if we find you circulating PDFs you purchased from us, that is a potential reason why we'd remove your access to them. I didn't mention it because polite company doesn't need to be reminded of the unseemly side of the internets.

Let us hope it never comes to that! We'd need some notice to grub up a media to 'port them out to for personal archives.

Thanks! That is exactly the information I was looking for. I'll be buying my worldworks pdfs from here rather than thier site. One of the reasons I stopped buying their product was the removal from RPGnow and losing several sets I had bought previously.

Oh that sucks! pretty lame.

I wish I could afford those PDFs. (and the printing costs associated with them.) Just not in my budget currently.

And time. So much time... I recently bought the hinterlands kit from them and it is really nice, but time consuming. It has become a hobby all by itself.
