...about how long did it take total and were there longer parts to run than others?
Just finished this week-end. I started running it mid-November 2007, so 16 months. I ran it almost every Saturday for 4 hours. If I subtract holidays, conventions, and conflicting schedules when people couldn't make it, I estimate it took about 13 months.
Everything flowed along smoothly until Fortress of the Stone Giants. The first battle took the full 4 hour session. One battle in Sins of the Saviors took a session and half to complete. The final encounter took 2 sessions.
Over all, I would say the slow down are the fights. A couple of books have a fight almost every other encounter. That really slows the flow.
All in all, I and my players had a great time. Hope you enjoy yours.
