Big cities of Qadira - NOT Sedeq? Any experts?

Lost Omens Campaign Setting General Discussion

So the Pathfinder Chronicles: Campaign Setting says in its country statistics box (pg. 120) that a notable settlement is Sedeq, population 89,760.

But then the writeups on pg. 121 say that other cities of note are Gurat (pop 8490) and Omash (no pop listed), and Sedeq is a mere settlement.

Does this mean that while Sedeq has a larger population, it is less noteworthy due to its focus on the slave trade and little else? Or is the population number possibly a misprint?

Anyone know?

The Exchange

Unfamiliar with the Book - However based on what has been provided Sedeq is either:

1) A Temporary Slavers Settlement (a Nomad Camp of 80,000+) that relocates continuously - in which case it is continuously raiding surrounding communities as the Slaver Horde Moves.
2) A Site with a Continuously changing Population (heavy slave population turnover).
3) A fixed site city with little consideration to a fixed population.

Funny you should mention that. We at Pathfinder Chronicler will be attempting to figure that one out too. We will be helping to bring Wikipedia up-to-date on all things Qadira in the weeks to come. And once Wikipedia is done, we will make a conservative attempt to fill in the blanks on our site. The new AP: Legacy of Fire might also find itself in Qadira somehow (though that is a guess), so there is a lot to look forward to in that department.

I don't know, but I'm wondering if anyone has any information on Omash.

There is a PF Society adventure there:

Spoiler:

The Pathfinder Society Module #14 "The Many Fortunes of Grandmaster Torch", is set largely in Sedeq. It includes a map of the spice market and environs. By the looks of the market, it is pretty large and very permanent.

** spoiler omitted **

Establishing it as Something Large and Permanent without the capacity to understand the stress it puts on resources does not make for a good setting...

Firewood (population 80,000+)=978.5 tons of firewood per day. Thats vehicle traffic of 500-1000 wagons per day.

Do we see the forest needed to support fuel for cooking food or are they eating slaves?

Slaves instead of Beasts of Burden pulling those wagons so thats 3000-6000 slaves pulling in the firewood wagons each day. At 80,000+ that is all the forest in a four mile radius within the first year.
