Apologies to my Texan Friends

Ex-Mayor of Detroit

Relocation not approved yet by the court but who knows?

Amazing, isn't it, that he can afford to move to this swanky area?

I'd rather he be stuck in jail 'til his federal issues get settled, but no hope for that. His whole family are crooks.

Sovereign Court

Why be sorry? Texas still hasn't apologized for Jessica Simpson and Matthew Mcconaughey.

I wouldn't apologize, Texas has a more long term solution for corrupt politicians. Besides, he'll be a Lions fan in the town where most of the Cowboys actually live. How long can he last anyway?

Not to mention Ross Perot and Ron Paul. Or that stupid Sandra Bulloch movie, Hope Floats, that my wife has to watch every single flipping time it comes on.

Maybe Southlake will be a nice play for the family to recover while the former mayor is in jail? I'm sure a Tarrant county judge will be glad to give her significant alimony/child support and a restraining order for when he gets out.

Ross was a boon for the economy and technology. It's ok for him to be an annoying little twit on the political scene.

Aside from his Synagro buddies he won't have the support base Detroit has afforded him, so maybe there's hope. Hopefully the feds will unravel his HUGE house of cards. And those of his parents. Especially his mother the congresswoman.

Oh...I thought the really surprising thing was that he only needed to embezzle 1 mil to move to Southlake!

Let's summarize. The mayor made a bit over $100k per year. He has a judgment against him for $1mil. Law license revoked, and no job. Yet he's still able to buy(?) a house in Southlake. Gee, where does the money come from?

- Synagro
- Charities he set up while mayor, then req'd businesses to contribute to
- Bobby Ferguson, his buddy whose company 'won' a lot of business for the city
- Other 'side' endeavors

Did Texas pass an alimony law? When did that happen?

Lady is better off getting divorced in Michigan, frankly.

Edit: And Southlake? Nice of the former mayor of that subdivision to say how "progressive" they are. I know from personal knowledge (riding with a friend) that D.W.B. is still discouraged in Southlake (as in, if you're black, you'd better be in a suit and a Mercedes (or a Cowboy/Maverick/Ranger) or you'll see flashing reds and blues in the rearview...). I know Mr. Kilpatrick himself may not have to worry about this, but his kids may...

Aww, his wife will never divorce him. The money is too well hidden.

Plus she has her own history, with accusations of assault on a stripper that later got gunned down. Too bad the evidence disappeared from both cases.

Like I said, apologies. But I guess they'll fit right in with the privileged class.

I thought that passed a few years back...?

That's depressing to hear bout Southlake. I think I used to get pulled over in Park Cities because my car was so old.
