Saul chats for a few minutes with the half elf guest, Tvaliss waits the time away by observing the preperations for the following night. Humans can be a funny lot. Even as Saul is talking to the half elf many of his workers are directed by him with finger points or nods of the head. He seems to be the center of the eye in the chaos storm of his gambling hall. He sees you waiting and motions for you to approach even as the conversation continues with the half elf.....
Violant takes a second glance around the room and notices another elf type has joined the owner in conversation. Other than that she only sees what she saw before. No one seems to be taking any extra interest in her new mark. Next to you Charsis and Zee continue to flirt back and forth as the drinks ordered arrive, an cold ale is placed in front of you with a smile from a sexy demon women, she gives you a wink as she places the drink down. If you need anything else dear, just wave for me, I'll take care of you. The names Mia! with that she saunters away to take an order from the next table over....
The barbarian and the lady in black leathers continue to flirt!
The night grows older....
Ivan is waved over to the bouncer he talked to earlier whoose name turns out to be Parvin. He directs you to the other end of the gambling hall to relieve the man standing post in front of the cashiers area where people are changing coins for playing pieces. Parvin told you to keep an eye on everyone coming into and out of the area. If you see anything out of the ordindary get Org's attention he'll know what to do. Org stands across the entry way from you, a very large half orc who seems to be a statue watching everything and everyone who passes, he doesn't even acknowledge you are standing there....
Saul listens to the half elf as he explains about lack of ventilation in the guest rooms mentally adding it to the long list of things he needs to continue to fix this place up. He also thinks the half elf should stop sharing his room with the dwarf, the air problem whould be fixed reel quick that way. Well the bar is over to the right there through those doors since you seem to have forgot our conversation last night! I'm sorry but I have so many things to get done before tomorrow..... Chadwilt notices Saul nod to an elf who begins to approach, he has a sour face on for an elf and he's holding a glass of wine but its sorta seems he's holding it out away from him like its the plague or something......
Thanks for the thoughts! I will keep you updated! Hopefully the economy will turn around sooner than later and we can all get back to the normal way of life, sleep, eat, work and play D&D....

Tvaliss Aetherian |

Tvaliss, noticing Saul's nod, approaches the chatting pair and smiles as he closes the distance. Noting the mixed breed with him, he wonders what sad straights his elvish parent must have been in to bed with a human. Giving it a mental hand wave, he gives the hal-elf a polite smile and nod before focusing his attention back on the casino owner as he says, "I do apologize for the interuption, for I know that your time is short, and the tasks ahead are still long, but I am afaid I am here to add one more task to your list. It seems that your wine cellars may have been improperly labeled, for upon drinking this fine elven wine, I was saddened to find that I was instead drinking one from human lands. While I am not loath to drink such things, others in your fine establishment with tastes as mine might find offense and think that they are beinging fooled. So I am here to tell you so that you might be able to fix this error before it causes a fiasco."
The elf, who has approached Saul and started conversation with the man, bears the robes of a wizard and has all the well-kept appearance and manners of nobility.

I am going to move us along to the next day to get us into the actual game! Its the night of the big event, some of you are just showing up or coming from your rooms and others are working. I am going to reprint the begining opening statement so everyone can remember whats going on tonight!
Just inside the main doors, two sultry beauties scantily clad and
wearing faux bat wings, devil horns, and tails play the part of
alluring succubi. Both are employees of the Gold Goblin, and
they cheerfully register contestants for the tournament and
process entry fees. Armed guards stand nearby to either side of
an immense treasure chest into which each patron’s entry fee is
added. The guards are on hand to not only protect the money,
but to prevent any overzealous admirers from trying to dare the
infamous touch of a succubus.
Beyond the registration table is the hall’s game floor. Dozens
of gamblers, waitresses dressed as succubi, and bouncers mill
about the room, wandering amid tables offering various games
while dealers shuffle cards, roll dice, and spin wheels. Moving
through this throng are a dozen more of the barely clad, batwinged
vixens serving drinks and batting coal-black eyelashes
flirtatiously for tips. In the center of the chamber is a short
podium atop which sits a massive gold chest affixed to the floor
by similarly gaudy chains. On either side of it stands a barechested
bouncer in the exotic garb of some foreign sultan’s
court. Each stands with muscled arms crossed over his chest
and with a naked scimitar of prodigious size tucked through
his waistband. High above them, from the hall’s cloth-draped
ceiling, hangs a brass birdcage within which crouches a small,
bat-winged, pointy-tailed devilish creature that sulks as it gazes
over the room and occasionally rattles the bars threateningly.
A small man makes his way to the podium and steps onto it. Some of you know him already as the owner of the Gold Goblin. He scans the crowd with a big smile on his face at the packed building. He begins to speak....“Welcome, one and all, to the
Gold Goblin Gambling Hall and
your chance to cheat the Devil
and win back not only your soul
but all of his gold as well.” He
says this last as he pats the large
chest before which he stands. “I
hope you found your reception
by the Devil’s lovely temptresses
suitably entertaining.
Let’s take this moment to thank Old Scratch himself for
attending this event. Not only did he loan us these lovely, dark
angels, but he also emptied the deepest vaults of Hell itself to
provide the gold for this tournament.”
With this, Saul directs the crowd’s attention up to the imp in the birdcage. At the sudden attention, Old Scratch
flies into a flurry of rage, banging the cage bars, spitting,
howling, and screaming vile epithets in Infernal at all
assembled. His theatrics are received with guffaws and
even a smattering of applause.
Go ahead and rp you pc into the Gold Goblin and are listening to his speech!

Tvaliss Aetherian |

Tvaliss had arrived, "fashionabley late", as the human's are known to say. As such, he was standing on the second, gazing down on the crowd that had gathered for Saul's speech. Dressed in his normal robes, Tvaliss simply listened to the casino owner's words as he gazed at the outlandish decoration and worked his way down the stairs. To him, the decoration was just as gaudy and stereotyical of human thoughts on things malevolent as it had seemes the first night he came to the Gold Goblin, over a week ago. Though he was here anyway, to keep the promise to Saul. For a romise from an elf, no matter who he gives that promise to, is a promise that an elf keeps.

Violant Aurori |

Unsuccessful in her attempts at parting her pigeon last night from some of his gold through mostly honest means, Violant has every intention of trying to make up for this tonight.
She saunters into the Golden Goblin and produces a single gold piece from a coin purse suspended around her neck, looking at it and biting her lip for effect before handing it over to pay her entry fee for the tournament, hoping to give the impression that this is a big expenditure for her.
She looks around at the mostly unfamiliar games, and her woebegone expression turns real as it occurs to her that she knows next to nothing about gambling...
If she happens to see Mia, her friendly waitress from the previous evening, she waves her over and orders a single ale, which she'll nurse throughout the evening, not wanting to risk getting drunk (and not at all trusting the water in a place like this).

Charsis Wyrmscale |

Charsis is on the door for the first part of the evening. He lets Violant in, securing her weapons and giving her a cursory hello. "I hope to see you friend back again tonight," he then says with a grin. "I'll be working the floor later for the actual event, so I will be able to meet up with her down there."
He then goes back to checking people in as the man behind Violant sighs loudly. Charsis offers him a scowl for his trouble and makes sure to pat the man down looking for concealed weapons.

![]() |

Saul continues with his speech to the crowd gathered, “Of course, he plans on replacing what he loses in gold with
the souls of those of you who don’t win. The tournament rules
are quite simple—as you play, you’ll earn more chips. And with
those chips, you’ll be able to bribe your way out of the current
Hell you’re trapped in, working your way down deeper until
you get to Old Scratch’s treasury. Currently, all of you are Old
Scratch’s prisoners in the first of the Hells, Avernus. If you want
to work your way down to the ninth circle, you need to win
games. Each time you win, you’ll be awarded a golden
eye. If you come in second, you’ll get a silver tooth.
And third place wins a copper heart. These bits
of flesh and bone are what the devils use in Hell
for currency, and they’re what you’ll need to pay
in order to bribe your way into the next layer
of hell. The first player to win a game after
reaching Nessus not only keeps his winnings
for that game, but also earns back his soul and
the ten thousand silver coins that the Devil
put up for this tournament. You can, of
course, decide to cash out your winnings
at any time you want, but if you do, or
if you run out of money entirely… well,
that means Old Scratch gets you.”
Vancaskerkin grins evilly and the
caged imp cuts loose with another
profane tirade. “And that earns you the
Devil’s Mark and an escort out of the
game hall until the tournament is over.
What, you ask, exactly is this Devil’s
Mark? Well, it’s something too utterly
horrible to even contemplate. The
forfeiture of your very soul, it is. But I
suppose I can show you what it is—
gods know I more than deserve
the Devil’s Mark. In fact, better
make it two, girls!” With that, the two succubi accompanying him lean over and each firmly plants akiss on Saul’s cheek with her ruby-red lips. When they pull away, their lip rouge has left clearly visible prints in the same shocking red on his cheeks. Saul beams as he cries out, “The Devil’s Mark, everyone!” which is greeted by a flurry of shouts, catcalls, and hoots. “Now, let’s cheat the Devil and take his gold!” which prompts one more rabid flurry from the imprisoned fiend
above, and with that, the tournament begins.

Here is the paper you must sign before you play in the tournement.
I,___________ , do hereby sacrifice my immortal soul and the worldly sum of
10 pieces of silver to the Devil to hold in escrow against his own stake of 10,000 silver coins in
the gambling tournament being held at the Gold Goblin Gambling Hall of Riddleport on this Oathday,
14th day of Arodus, 4708 ar.
I understand that my soul will be placed on deposit in the Hells’ deepest pit of Nessus. Furthermore,
I understand that all winnings shall be catalogued in concordance of souls, to be represented by teeth,
eyes, and hearts of the damned. By participating in the gambling tournament and beginning in the first
pit of Avernus, my winnings shall earn my way deeper through the Hells on the following schedule:
Dis—1 gold eye
Erebus—3 gold eyes and a Badge of Dis
Phlegethon—5 gold eyes and a Badge of Erebus
Stygia—10 gold eyes and a Badge of Phlegethon
Malebolge—25 gold eyes and a Badge of Stygia
Cocytus—50 gold eyes and a Badge of Malbolge
Caina—75 gold eyes and a Badge of Cocytus
Nessus—100 gold eyes and a Badge of Caina
I understand that if I should lose my stake in the tournament I shall receive the Devil’s Mark and
my soul shall be cast upon the rocks on the shore of the River Styx.
I understand that if I elect to cash in my winnings before reaching the pit of Nessus I shall
forfeit my soul and 50% of the cash value of my winnings for said early departure.
If I am the first player to reach Nessus, then I am granted the redemption of my soul and the right
to Cheat the Devil and Take his Gold in addition to collecting my winnings. In such a circumstance,
all other players shall receive the Devil’s Mark and forfeit their souls.
This is I do swear.

Zaranae Rivendale |

Zaranae enters the Gambling hall, winking at Charsis as he "pats her down for weapons" and giving him a lascivious grin full of promise. Once in she pays her entrance fee and listlens to Saul as he displays his showmanship.
"What the hells right!?" She smiles as she signs the paper. "No guts, no glory"
Looking around she locates Violant and gives her a wave.

![]() |

A lovely young serving wench approaches Tvaliss and says, Care for a drink before you start to gamble?
Violant notices Mia talking to an elf not to far off from you.
Zaranae saunters up to Violant with a quick wink to Charsis as she takes his leave, she notices Vee's attention is on an elf and one of the serving wenches.
Charsis continues with his job at the door....

Tvaliss Aetherian |

Politely, the noble elf smiles towards the young girl and simply says, "No, thank you, if I am to test my money in a game of chance, it is not the time to dilute my concentration with alcohol" not to mention the fact that I don't wish to drink the swill again. Tvaliss adds to himself as he gives a curt bow to the serving girl and then moves about the room, first to sign his contract, then to cash in a few copper and silver into their respectful equivalents for the tournament.

Chadwilt "Rose Cheecks" Carinio |

"Well Saul certainly has a flair for the ... clueless. But you can't blame a berk for trying now, can you?" Chadwilt says to the air in front of him. A little bitter because he is painfully sober so late in the day, he waits for an oportune time when there is no clump of people at the chip dealer.
After ascertaining that the paper he is signing is simply a harmless bit of fun, Chadwilt uses the non de plum ‘J Walker Black’ as his signature on the ‘quaint’ gimmick of a parchment.
He gently explains to the Goblin’s bouncers that he has been a guest of the establishment and has made arrangements with Saul to keep his foil on his person, he is after all a gentleman of leisure of the city (and more importantly it cost more than a month’s worth of alcohol).
Chadwilt gives 2 silver coins to the chip dealer "for your troubles", and then very gingerly and quietly and discreetly exchanges 88 in gold, 88 in silver and 88 in copper for chips to use in the nights drinking. And gambling perhaps …
After placing the chips in many different pockets the half elf looks down at his red mastiff, “Come Coraline my girl, let’s bounder over there and catch a game of, eh, bounder.”
Variation of Rich Parents trait, gotta love it

The grand event is well on its way, the noise level in the place is making it hard to hear even chatting with someone right next to you. Drinks and food are coming out of the kitchen and bar fast and furious. The smells of good food and beverages are almost smothered by all of the beings in the room, from special sences the ladies are wearing to some of the unwashed patrons, its all hard to tell who is what.
As the girls are chatting and looking for games to play, Tvaliss moves away from the serving wench to begin the nights games. Chadwilt with Coraline in tow does the same only drinks are the fist order of business, let the games begin.......
I am going to keep this as simple as possible so we can keep moving along. Make two separate rolls(First part of the night and second part of the night) for your gambling using your Charisma or if you have Profession(gambling) use that which ever is higher for you. With each roll tell me how much you are betting. There might be another round of betting depending on how well you do and how you role play it out. This will be the last part(or wee hours of the morning) of the night. Those who are working the event give me a perception roll!

Charsis Wyrmscale |

Perception Check. (1d20=20) Woo Hoo
Charsis finishes his stint on the door and, after a quick bite to eat and an ale in the kitchen, prepares to start his second shift on the floor.
He makes sure that his rounds on the floor bring him close to Zaranae so that he can make small talk and generally flirt with her while still keeping his mind on the job.

Violant Aurori |

Violant attempts to make use of her keen awareness and appearance to help with reading and bluffing other players, even flirting a bit with Mia and Zee as necessary to get any males at the table distracted and off their games, but in the end, her inexperience with the games being played makes such attempts meaningless. The first half of the evening is a crushing loss for her, before she picks up some luck. In the end, she discovers, it's not about skill or cleverness, just blind luck, and Calistria seems to have favored her tonight.

Chadwilt "Rose Cheecks" Carinio |

I have 88 gold, 88 silver and 88 in copper, I would have placed 8 coins of each for EACH bet in EACH game and doubled the bet according to the roll ... since we're making this rolls Charisma based instead I'm in trouble.
first roll 12, second 20 sorry I'm VERY rusty using invisible castle, the first set of rolls were too many dice and the next were the wrong die, but hey the third was just right, just call me Goldilocks. Do we have a discussion thread ? I need help with invisible castle gents.
Also if we have been playing for say two hours, that would be in the area of some 60 + game bets right ? Sorry, I am a bit of a gambling 'afficinado'.
"The night favors us Coraline, I may stay a little longer than planned. And may finally have that third drink now... hmm where are those barmaids? You my girl can take a little rest now, no use in both of us staying up, let's find me a drink and you a corner to sleep in." Chadwilt looks for a cozy corner for Coraline to sleep in, looking over the whole gambling hall.
That, and to get an idea of how the other participants seem to be faring. A thousand gold, now that's a lot of drinking money !

![]() |

The night is in full swing and people gamble to win their freedom or more importantly their soul. The drinks fly, people begin to loosen up from their normal lives trying to gain some extra help in the way of gold to make things a little better. Small fights breakout or cheering can be heard from around the room. Charsis is a busy man keeping an eye on it all. Most of his time is spent at the door checking people coming in or leaving with their heads held low from bad luck. He has had to break up a couple of fights, throw out a halfling cheater, dimiss two drunks getting to friendly with the waitresses and had to deal with one old man who did not have an invitation to the event. His frequent scans of the room find nothing out of the ordinary for this kind of place. The girls move about the gambling hall trying out different games as they go along. The first part of the night Zee seems to be doing better than Vee. Vee loses all of her gold she started with and Zee breaks even somehow. As the night continues both their lucks kick in, each doing better, Zee's pouch is bigger as she continues her night on the town. She's up about 20% from her original 10 gp she has been using to gamble. Its late in the evening or early morning depending on how you look at life, most of the night Vee has been down, losing gold slowly but on a hunch she goes all in and her hunch pays off, JACKPOT! She regains all the money lost throughout the night plus she doubles her original stake. Chadwilt moves throughout the gambling hall dabbling at each game taking minor losses as he goes(20%). Later in the night he finally settle on a game he figures the odds are in his favor, or so he thinks. After a few hours of playing he regains his original stake, his luck changing he continues on. The game is getting heated but he pulls off a big win doubling his stake. The gambling continues........
Make one more roll and state how much you are betting(or for Charsis what you are concentrating on in the room) with for the wee hours of the evening. Still waiting for Tvaliss post for his rolls, if he doesn't post by tomorrow I'll just move along then.

Tvaliss Aetherian |

During the night, Tvaliss doesn't put much effort into winning. Not being much of a gambler, he can be seen at the table reading a book of his notes as he occasionally pitches in a coin, recieves his cards or half-heartedly throws his dice. He bets a total of 20 gp the first half of the night and 30gp the second half and doesn't even blink an eye. Not concerned, Tvaliss figures his debt to Saul now paid as he simply tries to enjoy the night among the humans and other riff-raff in the crowded, noisy and smelly gambling hall.
Charisma check 1: 1d20+1 (9)
Bet 20 gp total
another 9
Bet 30 gp total

Violant Aurori |

![]() |

Its getting late into the wee hours of the morning but the gambling hall is still full of patrons trying to win the big pot which no one has one yet.
Tvaliss luck seems not to be with him tonight, the first part of the night end in losses for the elf, 50% of his stake. He continues to mingle around the tables betting when it feels right but his luck is just not with him at all tonight, the second part of the night leaves him without his original stake. If he wishes to continue he will need to buy more chips to gamble with.
The girls luck continues into the morning as both hit the jackpot again with their stakes doubling, the chip piles growning larger and larger, the crowd around them has also been growing larger and larger throughout their winning streak.
As the cheering and gambling continue an explosion of fireworks flashing from one of the braizers on the wall can be seen by all. The sudden bright lights causes everyone in the room to shout in pain as the firework flashes blinds everyone in the room. A ladies voice can be heard of over the panic and steel drawn from multiple directions, All right folks! Drop to the ground and don't try anything stupid and we might let you live! Panic is the word of the moment and most if not all patrons do drop to the ground as bid.
Tvaliss and Chadwilt, roll if you want to try and gamble the one last time before the fireworks went off. Everyone needs to make a will save(DC 13) to see if you somehow were not effected by the blinding light. State your actions wheather you turn out to be successful or not. This is a surprise round so everyone roll init. for me. If you are able to see make a perception roll.

Charsis Wyrmscale |

Charsis was looking directly at the brazier, thinking he had spotted something out of the ordinary, when it went off.
Will Save. (1d20+1=5)
His cry of surprise turns to one of frustration as he realizes that all he can see is a big blinding sea of white.
Initiative Roll. (1d20+8=13)
He curses loudly in Shoanti and draws his Short Sword, kicking himself mentally for leaving his Earthbreaker in his room. Once the voice makes it's demand however, he realizes that he is going to be no good in a fight and groping around, climbs under a table to catch his wits and attempt to blink and rub away his blindness.

Violant Aurori |

Violant happened to have her eyes closed for an instant, thanking Calistria for favoring her once more at the gaming tables (and acknowledging that asking for a third such occurence would be pushing it), when the burst of light fills the room. She quickly stuffs her winnings into her pouch, not wanting to lose them in the confusion while crying out, 'Too me, my sister!' Those who can still see clearly, see a second girl, exactly like her in all ways, step out as if from behind her, and it's no longer possible to tell which is which!
Standard action to secure winnings, move action to use Copycat to create a single mirror image of herself that will last one round
Distracted by securing her winnings, she isn't quite as observant as she could have been...

Tvaliss Aetherian |

As Tvaliss spends his last chip for the evening, luck is finally with him as he turns away from the brazier that suddenly flares with light, blinding those who happened to be looking at it.
Will Save:1d20+3 (20)
Knowing that blinding braziers and women shouting threats to the crowd aren't normal...even in Human casinos, Tvaliss heart begins to pump as he looks around for any danger that might be present. However, the suddenly panicing crowd makes it difficult for the elf to pick out the source of the danger.
Initiative:1d20+3 (13)
Perception 1d20+3 (7)

Zaranae Rivendale |

Zaranae turns her head at the moment the fireworks erupt, sparing her vision. Will save 1d20=16
Perception 1d20+4=12
Even as her brain puts together the pieces, she feels the familiar embrace of adrenaline as her body explodes into action. Initiative 1d20+4=23
She quickly stuffs her winnings into the pockets of her coat and ducks down behind the table, grabbing the heavy tankard she was drinking from on the way down.
Standard action retrieve winnings, move action duck down,BAB +1 allows drawing a weapon as part of a move action.

Chadwilt "Rose Cheecks" Carinio |

Sorry I checked the boards daily and as of Sunday we were 'paused', so I missed the start of the fun. BUT invisible castle is giving me error meassages now so I promise I will try again when I get home from work at 5 am EST. Don't kill everything leave me some fun !
edit: I tried again no love from invisible castle, let me try when I get home in a few hours, if still no love I'll have DM Zoomackulas do my rolling [your bribe ... er, residual will be in the mail.]

Here is the init order:
The lady
Zee
Chadwilt
Tvaliss
The wizard
Charsis
Vee
Thugs
Chaos and panic are the words of the moment. Some of the patrons rush the door trying to get out of here quickly stumbling as they go, most are blinded by the fireworks. The thugs with the lady make short work of the attempting escapees, knocking them on the back of the head. Crashes can be seen and heard, tables, glasses, beer mugs, chips, gold and people go to the floor heeding the words of the threatening lady. Moving quickly out of the latrine, a man wearing a long black robe of high quality, a sickle in one hand and a ornate wand in the other makes his way to the large chest with the grand jackpot of silver in it. He pulls out a scroll and begins to read from it mumbling words as he reads. The two bouncers who were guarding the chest are both on their knees rubbing their eyes from the bright light.
Zee reacts quickly managing to avoid being blinded, she grabs her chips and her drink and ducks down behind one of the overturned tables downs her remaining drink and is ready to use the tankard as a weapon since her weapons are on a table by the door. She notices Charsis is blinded by the flash of bright light and is under the weapons table, weapon drawn, and rubbing his eyes with the other free hand trying hard to see again. Next to her Vee is doing the same thing as her grabbing up her winnings and ducking down while saying “Too me, my sister!”
Chadwilt barely shakes off the affects of the blinding light, he calls for his pup shouting to her “To me Coraline! To my side girl!” And then shouts, “Above all else, save the rum and the ale! Where pray are the cellars, Let not misfortune turn into a catastrophe !” He sees the lady moving by the chest as the man in dark robes is doing some kind of magic. The thugs are spread about the room, each with a sap as a weapon. One by the main entrance, one by the cashiers cage, One at the entrance into the bar area and the last doors into the kitchen blocking the kitchen help from entering the main room.
The elf Tvaliss watches all the humans jump around in panic, he also notes whats going on at the large chest, he can tell a arcane user when he sees one. The man is using a scroll of some kind to create some magic effect most likely on the chest itself. He continues to stand there watching all of the events transpire in front of him and does not notice one of the thugs approach him and say, The lady said to drop to the ground elfie boy, do so know or your going to get a lump on your pretty little head!
Next to Vee a woman steps out from behind her and kneels down, she looks almost exactly like her in all ways. Vee can see the woman clearly as she peers over the table she is sharing with Zee. She is wearing leathers and has a rapier on her hip but the most notable thing about the lady is she only has one eye.
Charsis manages to get under the weapons table, with his weapon drawn. He can hear one of the thugs close by him knock one of the patrons to the floor as well as the other door bouncer. He can’t see anything his eyes stinging with spots circling around blocking his view. Blinded his hearing is more acute now and hears a man shouting for his dog and something about saving the ale.
Next round, state your actions and roll any appropriate checks or attacks. Charsis you are blinded for 2 rounds!

Chadwilt "Rose Cheecks" Carinio |

If the spell caster is within reach this round he will be Chadwilt's PRIMARY target; if he is not within near enough to get to this round then 'the lady' and I use the term under protest, is his secondary target as long as he does not provoke any attacks of opportunity along the way.
Masterwork Raiper 10+6 = 16 (BAB +1, weapon finesse), damage 7 .
"Most foul of knaves ! How DARE you endanger this good establishment's good people's good beverages !"
Coraline's trip (touch) attack 19 ! (Please make a St or De save. Please fail !)
As indicated on Chadwilt's character sheet under 'War Dog', when Chadwilt gives the battle cry 'save the rum and ale' (be it a roaring boast or a whisper), Coraline goes for trip attacks with her master. The link for trip is provided.

Charsis Wyrmscale |

Realizing he is under the weapons table and knowing exactly where he put Zaranae's weapons, he tries to gather them up quietly, so as to get them to her once his sight has returned.
Stealth Check. (1d20-1=9) Damn you Armour Check Penalty...

Violant Aurori |

Violant is not precisely sure whether the one-eyed woman is a threat or not, and so takes a five foot step to be out of her reach before looking to the sickle-bearing wizard and shouting in a commanding tone, 'Flee!' If she's particularly lucky, the wizard will flee in a direction that will allow someone to take an attack on him while his attention is distracted...
Command spell on the wizard, DC 15 Will save to resist.
Her 'sister' remains at her side, and it's impossible to tell which of them is her.
Move action to maintain Copycat, giving her one mirror image with a 1 round duration.

Tvaliss Aetherian |

Tvaliss raises an eyebrow at the human's demand, Elfie? Time to show this man some manners.
With that, he watches the man as he begins chanting in some strange language. When he is done, he extends his hand and the human thug feels magical energy thrying to cloud his mind.
For the DM

![]() |

The room slowly gets quieter as the lady takes control of the room, you can hear mutters of "my eyes" or "I can't see a thing". Looking around you can see most of the folks in the room rubbing their eyes trying to regain their sight. The lady with one eye continues to scan the room as she mutters under her breath with an occasional gesture. Zee jumps up and heaves her ale stein at the wizard, ale sailing everywhere as it flies toward its target and continues past landing somewhere in the crowd, a shout of pain comes from the one it hit. As the stein is in the air she takes off towards her weapons and Charsis, shouting to him she's on the way. Chadwilt and Coraline in unison attack the wizard, Chadwilt's rapier snakes out lunging forward trying to penatrate the wizard's skin. He fails to connect though, the wizard steps to the side out of the way of the attack while continuing his reading and chanting of the scroll. As he moves to the sde though he stumbbles over a dog who streaked behind him unnoticed, he lands with a thud on his rump but some how manages to finish his spell which takes affect imediately, the huge chest and the 10,000 silver coins that sat upon the podium disappears from sight although anyone looking closer at whats happening sees the chest has shrunk. The lady turns as Chadwilt attacks and says a final word at him makng his mind start to cloud. Chadwilt-will save please Across the room Tvaliss begins a quick chant of his own sending forth arcane energy at the thug who is threating him, the thug hestates for a second but shakes off the effect of whatever Tvaliss was trying to do to him. The wizard stands back up and tries to grab the now tiny chest. Coraline gets an Attack of opportunity! If Chadwilt makes his save then he will get one also! The two Vee's shout out in a commanding tone directed at the wizard, "FLEE", the wizard however take no notice of the two females as all his attention is on the chest. Under the table and still blind, Charsis attempts to grab Zee's weapons for her thinking he remember where they are on the table exactly. His luck is not with him as he fumbles around grabbing everything but her's, some clatterng to the floor and some shuffled around mixing everything up, he almost cuts himself as he tries finding her weapons. The thugs seeing some opposition to their robbery move into action, the one next to Tvaliss swings his sap trying to drop the elf, he hits him in the head sending the elf staggering back a step(4 hps dam-non lethal). The thug by the door was in the process of intercepting Zee but pauses as multiple weapons clatter to the floor. The thug by the cashiers cage dashes toward the person and his dog attacking his bosses. He swings his sap at the man but the man gets lucky as the swing goes wide of its mark. The thug by the kitchen stays where he is at for the moment thinking his cohorts have the situation in hand and he want to make sure no one enters from the kitchen by surprise....
Next Round!

Violant Aurori |

The one-eyed woman now seems a definite threat, and the wizard appears to be beyond her strongest magic, so Violant turns her attentions to the woman and attempts to conjure up a primal dread within her.
Cause Fear, DC 14 Will save to resist. Using Move Action to maintain her Copycat, so everyone will still see two of her.

Will save against ‘the lady’ (she’s no lady folks) 17+3 (Wis bonus, Half Elf bonus)=20!
Assuming Chadwilt made his save he is going for that slippery eel of a wizard with an Attack of Opportunity,16+8 = 24 (BAB, Masterwork, Weapon Finesse, Favored Enemy), Damage 4+4=8
“Eat this you devil egg you!” What ? He looks like a craven Chelaxian !
Coraline again for the trip (touch) 15 as an Attack of Opportunity, GOOOAL ! Just try and get up again swine.
By the way I forgot to add favored enemy bonus to my initial attack, but no backtracking needed my bad, but that’s what happens when you post at 4 am coming from work.

Just checking, can the wizard finish casting from the scroll, fall, get up from the fall and grab for the chest all in the same round ? And is there a bonus to hit if he was prone ? And first blood of the campaign goes to Coraline ! Well first trip actually ...
I was going for a little dramatic effect! The scroll spell was a standard action from last round which he would have finished then but I saved the effect for the next round to add a little flavor. I did have him roll a spellcraft check just to make sure the spell was not interupted during his fall. So when his turn came up in this round after yours he got up(move action) and then a move action to grab the chest! The person prone gets a -4 to their armour class in melee, no bonus to hit!

By all means please continue ! I did not factor the AC penalty for the wizard on my roll because I'm not sure there was one for this round; I would post my next round actions but it's time both you and I got some sleep.
