Hello all I'm going to be running a rifts campaign probrably picking up where the Cap'n left off. So far it looks like my players will consist of the Cap'n and Tin Man, the GM of a whole world, and the player of the knight in that campaign respectfully. Hopefully I'll have a whole group by the time the game picks up.
Even so I will attemp to keep record of their happenings in this journal for anyone who cares to enjoy. Wish me luck as it has been a long while since I've run a rifts campaign.
Oh and as usuall I welcom any comments or suggestions for the campaign from my fellow Paizo board readers, tanks.

Jorli |

I'm looking forward to the first game tomorrow morning. I haven't been able to play this character for a very long time, and it will wonderful to get a chance to go back to playing her. This should also mark my return to the boards as a player. I will probably start a player journal sometime next week. Of course this character won't tell the story in any way similar to the way the Captain would....but that's to be expected.

I have finally managed to get this game off the ground after several weeks of cancelling because I was helping a friend move to mention the birthdays that seemed to appear out of nowhere and players coming and going. Now mabye it can finally get started.
So I have managed run a couple of sessions in the past few weeks with not much really happening but I go into detail about them later. First I'll introduce the cast.
Then I'll fill in the setting.

First up we have Jorli; She's a 17 year old human looking teen mutant Ley Line Rifter from the HU2ed world. She's a pretty well experienced adventurer(survivor) with a past. To her the world seems to be out to get her pursuing her relentlessly. She's now at the point that she want's to find the "god" or "inteligence" thing that she beleives is messing with her and make it eat its on inards from the waste down if I remember correctly. For the most part she does the "talking/thinking" for the group and tends to lead them from conflicts rather than to them. Deadly with a gun and with any kind of blade she shouldn't be crossed even on a "good" day although she has been having rather bad days lately.
Also to note Jorli is run by our good ol Cap'n Monkamuck who's also GMing "A Whole World Awaits" and is also gaming with me into two more 4e games on friday nights one of which I am GMing every other friday(I'll be putting up a journal for that one soon just cause it's fun).

Next up we have Strider a human Wilderness Scout. He's from New Lazlo where his family has some prestige and is well conected throughout the city. He kind of turned in the rich life style for a chance to enhance his skills. he's the main scout for this party and is pretty handy as a sniper but he should never be underestimated when the combat draws close. He has mastery over some seroius martial arts styles that make him a very deadly opponent to those who are unaware due to him being a "frail human".
He's played by the player of Tin Man in the Capn's 3.5 game, luckily this time around his rolls have been much more impressive ensuring his survival.
After that we have Silver a half human half demoness Claymore. She is a bit of a mystery to the party. they first met her during a fight with some gargoyles that started off not in their favor. she quickly proved herself a deadly capable ally in a fight using her trademark claymore sword. she rarely speaks and even then only to Jorli for some reason. Since she came over the rifts she has been overwhelmed by this new land(even if her face doesn't show it) with all of it's "technology" and creatures of "magic". Also she comes in very handy when supernatural evil is about with her keen senses she can pick them out in a heartbeat.
Her player is the same as Magic Girls from the Capn's 3.5 game.

Now we have our Cape's, Rock and Doc
Rock is an experiment gone wrong from the HU2ed world in a lab he used to work in. This experiment gave him awsome levels of strength and power, to bad it didn't help him with his brain. Literaly the "dumb rock" of the group (the party's average IQ is 20-33, his is 10) he is kept on the front line where his massive muscle power makes him a capable brick. Well aside from the fact that most of the big badies target him first he has shown his willingness to work with others to some degree, especially the ladies of the group. He thinks himself to a be a ladies man, we'll see how far that goes should prove to be very entertaining. He used to be in a super team along side the Doc back on his world don't know how long that lasted. The party met him during one of their recent clashes with some demons during a mission.
If Rock was the "brawn" then Doc was the "brain" with an IQ of 30 (300 in real calculation) he is the resident smart man next to Outlaw. He is a human mutant(or experiment can't remember right now) who was an archeologist in his home dimension of HU2ed. He also has great strength rivaling that of Rock and great speed to boot too. He tends to be more of a pacifist in all but the most dire of situations. He is a well learned man who jumps at any oppurtunity to learn more about this world he wound up in. He tends to get along with the rest of the party (better than Rock anyway) and should prove usefull to the group in the near future.

Outlaw is up next. Outlaw is a human Techno-Wizard with a passion for guns and motorcycles. The party met him at the same time they met Silver during their fight the gargoyles. Except he was the one who was being chased by them through a rift straight from Hades itself. Not much of anything is known about his past but who cares right now he is proving himself to be a rather good shot with his twin TW pistols.
His player is same as Ryzzim and Sneaky but sadly lately he has not been able to make any of the current games so his character is on the sidelines for now. Here's hoping can get the chance to make a few once in a while.
Now there's Bambo, the female elf Leyline Walker survivalist. she is the most recent addition to the group having met up with her after the big battle with a Ballgore demon. She is a shy one keeping to herself and always thinking how to survive situations that seriously aren't in her favor. At the moment she is getting along okay with Jorli and Silver but the rest of the group is a little skeptical of a barely dressed woman appearing out of nowhere just as they finished a battle with demons. And there right to be, she has some secrets that will come to light in the comming sessions.

Last of all but certainly not least we have probrably the coolest member of the team Trucker back for another round of "Who's da King".
This Big Mother Trucker just happens to be The Goblin Pilot some of you might remember from the Capn's A Portal Opens Rifts game from some time ago. He is by far the coolest character yet. He's piloting a modified Samson PA with a chainsaw for a right hand and heavy firepower up the yinyang. He's got a taste for big guns and fine cuban cigars (and women). For the most part he has been the party's front line drawing most of the fire to himself and dishing it all right back. He's also learned to use that chainsaw in some very interestingly effective ways! He don't take crap from nobody and is looking for the next big score. He's proven himself to be a trustworthy ally with a good head on his shoulders and a mean trigger finger and he's always seen with a lit cigar clenched between his teeth. All in all he is a good guy who knows what to do when crap hits the fan so the party relies on him a good deal to get the job done. And if you had to guess at a command structure for this group he is likely to be number two next Jorli in the lead.

As of late only a few minor things have happened in this little campaign of mine. Most of the party met up during a trip to New Lazlo. This included Outlaw, Jorli, Trucker, Strider and Silver, all the while battling bugs and demons the entire way.
When they finally made it there they got some time to rest and meet with friends and family. Strider got a job commission from his father working at the city's center of learning escorting an archeologist team to what was "believed" to be part of a pre rifts city. The center tried sending a group before but lately strange activities have been recorded happening over a good portion of Canada and North America. happenings that have upset the bugs who have been particularly active during the past few months, something that has the city's officials on edge.
Thus the city required cut backs on anything that wasn't being spent on city defense so only a small team of crack individuals who were to be at the top of their fields will be available for this task. There would be 16 in total with two transports for them and a single transport for the party. Well the party agreed after meeting their next group member who came falling from the sky along with some kind of super neo Nazi types with a blimp came with guns blazing through a rift that opened nearly 800 feet right above the city. (You’d think they would have some sort of way to prevent things like this from happening right above their own heads.
He was taken to the centers medical wing where the doctors were perplexed during their examinations of his body. Something unique happened to him during his fall from 800 feet up, something a normal man even a cyborg or juicer could not hope to have survived. But in the end the group now with Doc in tow chose to escort this group of scientist. They did some shopping for Doc to get him equipped with something more than his own fist for at this point they didn’t know he had some superpowers although Jorli suspected it.
This mission would pay 10,000 grand a day per person should ALL 16 members be escorted to the location and back safely. Now this may seem a bit much but you’ll find out later why.
After gearing up they headed out with the scientist in convoy and the party in escort. The trip there would last three days, well should have lasted only three days. Their first day went smoothly for they were still neatly within New Lazlo’s patrol perimeter. The second day gave them their first problem. Several hours into the morning the party readied for combat as Jorli who was scouting ahead noticed some big black insects with wings flying with great speed in the caravan’s general direction through the trees ahead. When she got back she took Doc with her in an effort to spilt the team up.
She had dealt with the bugs before and believed that if a small party of them were out this far from the closest hive that the bugs should be looking for P.P.E. Well she was half right and her plan half worked. This tactic effectively split the bugs’ forces in two. With Jorli and Doc (both of whom were radiating a vast amount of energy, of course Doc doesn’t know it and no one’s explained that to him yet) drawing off and easily slaughtering for of the five that followed them the fight was looking to quickly come under the party’s control. The fifth bug had remained back on a tree observing the fight between Jorli, Doc and its fellow bugs. That did not sit well with the more observant ones in the party.
The second half of the party fared similarly as the first and witnessed the same with only four of the bugs attacking and the fifth remaining on a tree nearby and watching. These last two bugs bugged out when the fight was over; this action put the party on guard for the rest of the day which was pretty uneventful until later that afternoon.
The party was ambushed by some wierd looking humanoid creature with an amphibian look to it. Two of these creatures had menacing 7 inch teeth and what appeared to be chitonus armor of some kind bristling with spike and blades. One even appeared to have a plazma cannon growing out its left forarm plates. the fight that followed was breif with little damage to the party and missing faces for the fishmen (Loaks).
Their next encounter came late in the after noon of the third day when they came to a small clearing in the heavy woods. Suddenly the sky ripped apart as a rift opened into a explosion filled sky. Soon afterwards the party could make out a large object falling from the rift. This object wasn’t recognized until it came crashing down splitting into two parts during its decent. The party quickly dove out of the way save for Jorli who was fortunate to have been directly in the middle of where the object split apart. After the dust had settled the group was amazed to find that a modern day American Naval Destroyer had just landed right on top of them.
Their amazement did not last long however as several balls of fire and another Nazi blimp came through the rift which was again shot down.

This fireball as it turns out was the next member of their party Rock. It seemed to the party that they would have another fight on their hands because Rock didn’t land alone. With him was a Balgor Demon that was pretty well pissed off about what had happened back on the other side of the rift judging from the eyes that were made of fire and the hellish roar it let out as is back handed Rock into one the transport the party was escorting instantly flattening one of the drivers.
The fight erupted and was a bit challenging for our heroes as the Balgor sadly was not alone. He had brought four gurgoyle minions with him which suffice to say if this was 4ed that is exactly what they would have been classified as. The Balgor proved tougher though as he made a mockery of rock smashing him into the truck for the second and third time. At this point Rock had enough and finally managed to land a blow on the beast after his previous attempt with an uprooted tree failed miserably. The punch was very unspectacular as it only appeared to make the Balgor even angrier. Many attacks and jokes later the Balgor finally fell to a great display of team work and tactics.
Afterwards the group looted the ship and met their next party member Bambo. From the ship they gathered about three dozen American M4-CQB’s with under slung M-240 grenade launchers, several 12-guage shotguns and 14 assault rifles of an unknown make. Each came with plenty of ammo. Among other useful supplies they found about four laptops one of which Doc attempted to use to get to the “internet”. Well a connection got through alright when he noticed a red loading bar at the bottom of the screen. Bambo tried to smash it although Doc prevented it assuring her “what could possibly happen”.
I just had to take a nice quite laugh at this with only an evil grin on my face because of what happened next. Jorli’s player wasn’t in the room for this next part otherwise the fun part would never have happened. But a previous player from one of my older groups would have recognized it the second the loading bar appeared.
After the Laptop finished what it was doing everyone in the immediate area noticed that the rather cloudy blue and white sky suddenly turned a bright red. Bambo was already in prep for a port out of dodge and the rest of the sane group was already making for the trucks rolling out. Trucker however being the “big guns” for the group had another idea. He decided to operate the ships main forward gun that he had jury-rigged his suits power supply into earlier.
Using the cannon he fired multiple rounds into this red column coming straight for the ship with no effect yelling at the top of lungs for the thing to eat it. Luckily enough for him the shaft of light only left a quarter mile wide and deep hole of glass where the aft of the ship had once happened to be while he was on the fore. Well after that little demonstration Bambo thought it would be wise to ensure this little incident would not be triggered again so she set up a power drain for two of the remaining laptops. One of which was activated again by one of the scientist.
All in all this made for some seriously hilarious role playing that I will never forget. Too bad not all of the players had been there for that session.
