Here was I browsing the discount bin when I added 2 books (total around $6,00), checked the total and.. wooow! $28,00? How come? I went on adding the other 5 books in interested in (total around $33) and the grand total? $86!
Well, I have the AP subscription and I pay around 5 bucks each month for that book, so why is the S&H tax for these discount books so expensive? Bugs? Pure insanity?
Please, let me buy your books!

Keep in mind shipping is based on weight, not value; books that are on sale aren't any cheaper to ship!
Our standard rate carrier will only ship international packages up to 4 pounds; once you exceed that, the only option is USPS International Priority, which is expensive. You'll probably save money by placing smaller orders. (We plan to do this sort of splitting for you automatically in the future, but it's not quite ready yet.)
Note: After you remove items from your cart, make sure you re-select the shipping method. Once you drop under 4 pounds, you'll be able to choose the Standard Shipping method. (4 pounds is roughly 400 pages worth of books; your order currently weighs about 12 pounds.)

Wow, that explains why S+H for my bunch of PF BETA Rules almost matched the price of the books, thus almost doubling the overall price. Anyway...it was worth the price. Guess I'll have to go and buy a scale so that I might figure S+H more closely..... unless Vic is willing to change the design of the Store-Site and post each books weight next to its price ;)

It wouldn't really solve the problem, because it's only part of the picture—we also estimate the weight of the box and packing material based on the size, weight, and type of products in your cart. And even if we gave you all of that data, you'd still have to fully understand all of the rules for each shipper and each shipment type to figure out what to *do* with the data—and that's not something I'd wish upon you!
The real solution is for us to automatically break stuff down into smaller packages for you when that will save money; Gary's got that partway done already—we've been doing it on subscription shipments for several months already—but there are a few other things he needs to finish before he can put the time into making it work for all orders.
